Roudnitska favorite: Eau Sauvage, Moustache or Diorella?

I need some advice from all the Roudnitska High Priests out there. I suspect all 3 share the same DNA but I would like to know your views on them, especially from those who own at least 2 of them. Why is Moustache not as popular as Eau Sauvage? Is there anything wrong with its name?

From these three, Eau Sauvage is THE masterpiece, a wonderfully elegant and also versatile frag, which aged gracefully, only becoming- at least in my opinion- more fascinating, timeless and distinguished as the years went by

I own Moustache and have sampled Eau Sauvage. Rochas Moustache is one of my all time favourites - I can't really explain why I love it - it just clicked with me in a big way. I have sampled Eau Sauvage several times and whilst I appreciate it as a classic fragrance it just disappears on me in a matter of an hour, therefore, I cannot justify buying it. Moustache is, like Eau Sauvage, citrussy, fresh and classic but lasts ages and has a slightly 'off' accord which gives it more depth and interest in a 'dandified' kind of way. Someone described it in the reviews section as smelling like a 'sickly dandy'!!!!!! Not far off the mark....!

I just got my grubby hands on a bottle of vintage Diorella and I think it's just beautiful. I've only got Fraicheur Cuir, but I've tried the original Eau Sauvage as well, and Diorella is more complex, although also softer.

Of those three I would pick Moustache. But I still like his Eau de Hermes better.

Eau Sauvage or Moustache but not the third one.

Moustache. To answer your question, it has an animalic note that probably keeps most men (and women) away.

Definitely Eau Fraiche, it´s the one Eau Sauvage and Diorella derived from, and it´s a gorgeous fresh chypre - one of his early masterpieces, along with Eau d´Hermès!

Moustache for me!!

Roudnitksa's favorite was Diorella. Mine too, but I'd rather wear Eau Sauvage. He said Diorella was the perfect compliment to the smell of the environment around his home and garden. I can relate. It smells excellent around mine, too.

Eau d'Hermes is excellent but becomes a little boring over time. Eau Fraiche is also a great fragrance that I haven't worn much. Roudnitka said Diorella was based on Eau Fraiche, not on Eau Sauvage.

I've never lost any interest in Eau Sauvage, and I need to try Moustache and Ocean Rain.

Roudnitska was a brilliant perfumerer though I never liked the dirty vibe. Eau Sauvage is fairly nice though.

I prefer Eau Sauvage vintage EDT to modern EDT. Modern is still good, but pale shade of real McCoy-ES.
I believe that vintage Moustache Rochas (which I has not tried) was really better than modern (which is live fast, dead soon scent).
The same thing about Diorella.
From the Roudnitska colognes I`d choose ES vintage.
The only modern Dior cologne that I love - Eau Sauvage Extreme, but it`s not Roudnitska creation.

roudnitska's personal favorite was diorella but he said diorella got its inspiration from eau fraiche and not eau sauvage

My write in is Ocean Rain. Bitter herbs, citrus and a weird use of Calone.
