I just tried this and was so taken with it that I've ordered some. It is a most well-manered vetiver with soft floral undertones. It has an overall feel of quality old-style perfume from the 60's such as the older Givenchys. Please do sample this one. I think it will also work well for men.

Oh, Man.. You know it's all good, Kumquat. But I really don't like this one. Man, I tried it in London last month, and I was SO disappointed. And it costs a lot!

I hate to be one of these "if...then" types, but...
for a grassy, subtle Vetiver, I'd opt for the WAY cheaper, world class Givenchy Vetyver...
or even the Azzaro Pure Vetiver , which is strikingly 'on par' with the Diptyque.

But then again, I have some sort of Diptyque aversion -- across the board.

I'm with you - adore this one. I love the scent of vetiver but had never found one I dont tire of wearing (apart from Vetiver pour Elle) I tested this one and it was love, all the way to the drydown. I love the fact that it's a stange mix of dusty and juicy. I want to drink it when I'm wearing it! My only complaint is that it's so fleeting. I have to spray on my clothes and in my hair for it to last. I do love re-applying it though...

I sprayed a card last month and it came across as spicy. So sprayed on my hand a week later(back at the store), started lovely and then the dreaded swamp thing started coming through. Not as in your face as some vetivers on me. But a no from me.

Love the way everybody's building the tension. Look forward to sampling this now even more than I did before reading this thread. Glad to know at least it's not ho-hum.

Tried this the other day and it certainly is rich in...um grapefruit. Very light on the vetiver IMO.

I agree, loads of citrus paradisi here, but I get plenty of vetiver in the drydown. I'm feeling a bit blasé about this one.

Insignifiant frag imo, waiting the next Eau duelle ...

I do love a good vetiver. This one is going on my sample list.
