I've tried this many times, I never understood why it stands out or sells so much. That bitter orange is repulsive and disgusting. This smells almost as bad as Guerlains Vetiver.
I don't like to factor in cost when reviewing a fragrance but for the ridiculously cheap price, this stuff is great! Smells similar to Armani Code but better. Might buy another bottle
TVlampboy declared Or des Indes as the elegant richer sister of Bal a Versailles,( but not the older) This is repeated by other enthusiasts on on other blogs. It is spot on. Bal is Zsa Zsa and Or...
Let me first say that Eau de Kananga is a brilliant but not mind-blowing scent. Eau de Kananga, at least the Rigaud version, is not a feminine fragrance and in reality a unisex if not exclusively...
SMN Garofano is a realistic and beautifully orchestrated carnation perfume. It is strong, spicy, and heady with floral overtones. Garofano is spicy, but not as spicy as Caron's Coup de Fouet. It...
Wearing Clear by Neil Morris, an American perfume by and American perfumer in honor of the American team kicking some English butt today in the World Cup!
Yesterday, Lys Bleu by Parfums d'Orleans...a fruity find from Wolfie(where does she GET these things??!!) which I must somehow lay my hands on.
And today - thanks to Chaya- more of the sublime Vert Pivoine by Histoire de Parfums. On me this is not very vert but VERY pivoine and I must also get the clams for this one.
A) Am I not TOTALLY blessed in my BN friends??!! And
B) Does it not cost me money???
I just received a sample pack of the Xerjoff line from a dear friend, and I'm testing two--Kobe and Nio. One is waaaaaay too herbal, and the other is reminding me of lemon jello for some reason. Not my speed. Good thing the day is young!
Lys Bleu was an accidental antique find, just recently I saw it in Brielle's Wardrobe and I sent some to a few of my BN friends. I am still interested in reading more about Royalissime from the same house.
HappyBirthday to Le Grand Duc!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm wearing Chanel Beige (thanks much to Sunnyfunny!). This one just blew me away, because it was so unexpected. I love it. Must acquire some. As Taoladay says: Are we not blessed in our Basenotes friends? Does it not cost us money?
Such an auspicious occasion - the birth of Le Grand Duc changed the world forever, and made it a happier place! It surely must be a holiday in Denmark!
Happy Birthday, Duc!
I'm in Dior, naturally....somehow seems de rigueur!
Maroma Night Jasmine, a perfume oil I bought yesterday at Whole Foods. This is sweet, not indolic, and actually smells like the oil I used to buy back in high school (late 60s/early 70s) at a shop that sold "hippie" type stuff! Takes me right back.

A great idea! Looking in the back of my perfume cabinet, finding Tommy Girl, an "American" scent if there ever was one!
RHM, sending get well vibes to you and your daughter.
("Duck Amok" in Denmark! My goodness, you do know how to party!)
And... Hugs to RHM and daughter...
My SoTD is Vent Vert BUT I'll make a point later after the chores are done and I'm showered up of pulling out the Midnight Poison (which I do like) in celebration of the Duke's one year olderishness!
Oh no! You Duckness! I wish I knew before I donned New Haarlem on, I wish I knew it was your Majesty's birthday, I'd be wearing my Espirit de Parfum Poison from the 1990s! But nooooo.... silly me!
Happy Birthday to you!
Castorpollux, happy birthday too!
Hugs to those who want them today.
I love that coffee absolute smell that's coming from me.
Duc, it's your birthday?! Here's a little serenade for you, our favorite fine-feathered friend:

Lilybelle, I was blown away by this one too. I don't usually take to Chanel, and the name Beige just leaves me cold. But OH what a beautiful white floral it is. I love the frangipani/plumeria in it!
This morning I sampled two Annick Goutals, Chevrefeuille (kinda pretty) and Eau de Ciel (soapy-musty on me). Soaked in the hot tub with a good book to catch some rays (I fill the hot tub with cool water for a pretend swimming pool), showered, and then spritzed liberally with Goutal's Vetiver, which I adore!
The girl & I are doing much better, had a good day. Even went to an art supply store for Copic markers for her to work on three political cartoons for her social studies project. She missed three days of school last week, so she will have a lot of work to do.
On a positive note, she got her high academic achievement award. Her daddy & I are very proud of her.
Decided to test Costamor's Sugarwood today. It ended up washing off at work, but while I could smell it I thought it was rather nice - very sweet and candyish, like a Blow Pop.
