KISKISSKISS right back atya Sophi!! What a pretty little heart!!

Returning to my Keiko Mecheri coffrets today I'm test driving Genie des Bois. "Violet leaves, violet, tonka bean, benzoin tears (sic!!) rosewood."

As often happens, the pyramid arrives haphazardly - sometimes upside down - on me. So what I get first is woodiness then overly sweet, musky violet with nothing to temper the sweetness. So far. (Half hour in.) I'm not a violet fan....too "old lady" (I await the brickbats - but show respect! I am eighty one.).... so this may be a pass-along to those who are (not eighty one - violet fans).

Still - worth the booklet copy: "A glimpse to Romanticism. An unexpected violets bouquet rejuvenated by misty green notes and comforted deliciously by tonka beans and cocoa powder notes." (But no benzoin tears?)

We have another birthday today -- it is Red Hot Mama's! (She, like me, used to be having her full name displayed while posting, but in one of our BN changeovers we had to stick with the abbreviated forms). Was quite a trying year for you, not boring at all -- hubby, daughter, flowers, cat, fire, surgery, bees -- too jam-packed for average folks, not your typical Gemini. But you have been on top of this all and came out smelling like a rose, didncha? Anyhooo, many fragrant returns of the day!

Shiloh for me today.

Happy birthday, RHM!!! Many happy and fragrant returns.

Enjoy the day, all!

Beautiful cake, tdem!

I am wearing Lovely Patchouli, on top of Alba body oil, on top of an aching back.

Red Hot Mama
Dearest among the many dear here
Happy Birthday

Got out weeding and sweating early. Showered and now enjoying the cooling effects of Bigarade Concentree. Relatives visit this afternoon, a touch more dusting, and I'm ready for the white-glove test.

Sophi ~ Loving those pastels!

Thank you for your sweet wishes, I love the pretty pictures! It HAS been some year for me and my family but we aren't alone in this.

I count my blessings. You all are among them.

As for scent today, I have been drawn lately to Chanel fragrances. (Wore #5 edt & body cream for bed last night) It's supposed to be a hot, humid day with thunderstorms. Chanel #19, sounds like just the scent to wear to cool off.

Again, thank you for the birthday wishes. I'm spending the day treating the chestnut wood mantle & doors in my house. I think I have woodworm in the mantle. Reminds me of the "Bucket woman"!

Hugs & smooches to all of you.

Hello everyone, and Happy Birthday to RHM!

I'm in the gorgeous, classic floral chypre from 1985, Gucci No. 3.

Y'all have a great day!

I'm, in Bois de Paradis today... it's unseasonably cool and overcast.

Raphaelle Peale, 1822

Puro Lino
Deceptively simple, lingering clean scent of soap.
It must be the geranium that gives this a sense of wonderment.
Tangy and gentle at the same time.
All the while, verbena and jasmine tantalize in soothing caresses.

The notes feature geranium, jasmine, verbena,
neroli, green notes and musk.

Honoré des Prés Vamp Ã* NY, from a sample I won on another site's giveaway.

It's gorgeous. I sprayed the back of my hand last night, and in the morning it seemed a bit powdery. I am not extremely familiar with tuberose as a note to give a comparison. So far, though, I am loving it.

Today I am doing a full wearing and will pay more attention to its development.

Happy Birthday,
RHM!

My SoTD is Guerlain Vetiver
The latest formulation... a touch more citrusy and sharp than the original, with a little smooch of nutmeg that isn't there in the original's top note, which gives it a "musty" character for a little while that the original doesn't have, which knocks it a notch below the original for me.

Now back to the chores, I've got a goal to have my house all tidy and my stacks of paper that are reaching their maximum angle of repose sorted by the end of the day!

Congratulations my dear RHM..!

Thank you all for all those b-day wishes yesterday,
I just went through the SotD post from the 12th, in
the hope, that somebody had noticed my big day,
and my oh my, you had! Merci ... love you all!

I celebrated my 30 ... mmm ... 28th b-day in Platinum Égoïste.
Today I'm in one of my b-day presents; D&G pour Homme!

Today I'm in Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens. It's a little heavy handed for a hot day like today, but it's such a favorite, and there IS air conditioning everywhere I go....

Creed Love In Black, for a day spent battling the garden. Managed to get most of the bindweed out without disturbing my own little wild violets too much.

Happy Birthday RHM! Now I know what the initials stand for

Happy Birthday, RHM!
I didn't know what your nickname meant, and now I know thanks to Twolf. What's your full name?

I am obsessing over my sample of Bond #9 New Haarlem. I've been testing it against my other coffee scents and so far it is my very favorite.

Le Grand Duke, I apologized for not wearing Dior in honor of your Birthday yesterday, but after an eventful afternoon I took a shower before coming over to friends to play my brand new black Ovation (a guitar for those who don't recognize the name) -- sooo excited -- and thought, Gosh, I am making a STATEMENT anyway, so Poison it was! But, I was wearing overalls. The only reason I was able to pull that off was that slick black guitar

nice to hear, that you ended your day in the fab

Yep, it's the same bottle that I had in the 1990s. Seems like I've actually been using it back then, I can't believe how much is left. It's really special to me because it was my first "real grown up" French perfume, so I do treasure that little Espirit de Parfum bottle. Can you buy these nowadays?

Cheers to you on your birthday, RHM! (I'm lovin' all these Geminis!)

Annick Goutal Eau du Sud for me today. Where was that thread about dry scents? This one smells like a Mediterranean hillside bathed in hot sun.

You guys are so wonderful! I "had" to tell you what my daughter did for my birthday. She organized all of my perfume samples, hundreds of them! I now have two cases loaded with my samples. She's so sweet!

SOTE is Amouage DIA, from a sample, of course.

Happy Yester-Birthday,

I hope it was splendid!
RHM, please send your daughter over to my house to organize my samples ASAP!!! What a nice birthday gift! Happy birthday

I'm slightly sick to my stomach today (TMI?) so nothing is sitting well with me except Etro Heliotrope. I have a very light sprtiz of that on my wrists.

Aromatics Elixer by Clinique. I don't like it so much it smells like an older lady and it is hard to wash off.

Happy Birthday RHM!!! I hope this coming year is nothing short of excellent! and that life is kind with you, as you are with your BN friends.

I am not wearing anything today. Lots of running around today. Does cream count? I put on some L'Occitane Almond cream this morning.

Happy Birthday Red Hot Mama
You deserve a million dollar year, so let the celebrations begin.

Today I wore vintage Diorella, which I still can detect on my skin. Another classic butchered into submission by way of re-formulation.

Tonight I will wear (apres-bain) Eau de Ciel Annick Goutal, a wonderful soothing scent.

Hugs to all, hope the coming week will be peaceful.
