Mood Lifter - Which Fragrance lifts your mood?

Thread Starter
So, I've been having a stressfull day at work and notice I have been extremly irratable. But after lunch I decided to dab a bit of Mitsouko Parfum, which I keep in my desk.

Wow!!!! this thing is soo yummy it completely changed my mood. I feels so happy, energized and relaxed.

Amazing how frangrances can change a person's mood.

How about you? Do you have a frangrance that can lift you up so to speak?

Habit Rouge by Guerlain puts me in very happy mood. Don't know why but it just does the trick with the opening notes; powdery, comforting, classic.

Xerjoff Nio, Carthusia Mediterraneo and Boudicea the Victorious Energizer lift my mood.

The more formal, "mature" kind of frags in my wardrobe, along the lines of Knize Ten or Antaeus, since I always associate them with the happier and more special occasions in my life

Gucci Envy always clears my mind, PR Ultraviolet makes me somehow happy...

The scent of mint is well-documented as a mood lifter. My recommendation is Cartier Pasha Fraiche Menthe, the one in the light green bottle. It's one of my favorite summer fragrances. Works very well for me as an office/day wear scent. Give it a sample, at least. I've seen it in many upscale department stores. Reasonably priced for such a nice fragrance. I like it on weekends, too.

The ability to boost the spirits. I can think of no better reason to love a fragrance.

My two favorites are:

Vetiver by Guerlain
Worth Pour Homme

At night, when I get home from work, my favorite mood lifter is Agua Lavanda Puig. It's nice and light and only lasts for a couple of hours on the skin, which is perfect for a night at home. Great stuff.

Cuir De Russie Chanel is my Mood Lifter
Weird Eau Noire, Dzing and Cumming make me Hella happy

I find certain fruity-floral fougères, including Globe and Ciel for Him to be effective mood lifters, as are "beach party" scents like Fresh Sugar Lychee and Bahiana. Also, for no apparent reason, Yerbamate, Carnal Flower, Ocean Rain, Eau de Campagne, and Missoni.

Happy,by Clinique has lifted a mood on occasion.
M7 has calmed & centered some nerves (after the 2 hour dry down).
Herrera for Men has made me feel like a million bucks although I don't carry that much cash on me.

Every frankincense centered frag make me happy!!!!
and also tea and mate frags like AG Duel, LV Yerbamate or Cdg Tea.

CHEERS

Fahrenheit Absolute started the day off on a positive note and stayed that way throughout the day.

Eau d'Orange verte for me. The top notes are wonderfully refreshing after a tiring day.

Same thing that immediately came into my head when I read the thread name. Interesting. I didn't like it till I found the Beau Cavalier version.

I'd probably reach for my gourmandy fougere "Fourreau Noir" - Serge Lutens.
Guerlain Vetiver, Diptyque's Opone, and Aqua di Parma Colonia.
Some green bright citruses lifts my mood: Adolfo Dominguez Vetiver, Vetiver pour Elle Guerlain, Li Altarelli Stephanie de Saint-Aignan, etc.

Actually, in our crappy spring and early summer weather this year, I have noticed a desire to put on some Le Male at night after a cold and rainy day, but again, this is a gourmandy lavender...

Timbuktu always puts a smile on my face.

Diesel Fuel for Life - Probably because this was the only fragrance I wore in Fiji & every time I get a waft of it, its like hearing "BULA!" for the first time all over again.
I'm not much for "happy"... OTOH, I appreciate "calm" quite a lot.

Thierry Mugler Pure Coffee gives me a calm and protected feeling. Pinaud Lilac Vegetal does, as well.

If there was a frag which combined kugel Yerushalmi, herring in wine sauce, and ice-cold Stoli, that would be amazing, and almost certainly push my "happy" buttons... but I would only wear it for seuda shlishit.

WHOA! Lilac Vegetal?

I keep The Different Company Divine Bergamote at the office - never fails as 'reset mode' tonic. TDC Osmanthus is also a happiness potion.

More recently MFK APOM Pour Homme is a nice lift.

Amouage Homage is the uber-upper, of course.

What a good question!

For me the ones that make me feel like tap dancing are:

Himalaya
Habit Rouge
Guerlian Vetiver
Annick Goutal Vetiver
Erolfa
Iskander
Cuba by C&S
Le Roy Soleil Homme---Viva Dali!
(May I mention Geir for winter? Or is that just too passé on BaseNotes nowadays?)
The Baron (funky)
And the half-mad: Infusion by Bombay Sapphire, which smells just like its namesake.

As for as scents that calm me: Royal English Leather, Bulgari Black, Cacharel Pour L'Homme, Santal Noble, Kolnisch Juchten, Acier Aluminium and Baie de Genièvre--none of which I own at present. No wonder I'm a nervous wreck!

I better go light some sandalwood/kyara incense . . .

Gassho,

Mario

Demeter's "Gingerale" is a no-fail for me. It's bright and even has a sense of effervescence that is beyond "comfort".

Heritage completes me, while Chanel Pour Monsieur and Habit Rouge makes my day on a hot day...

Lots of fragrances lift my mood, but I get an exhilirating feeling from the top notes of Geir. Not sure why.

All trad Eaux de Cologne - I particularly like Trumpers to lift my mood. Also aquatics because they seem happily frivolous, MI works well. Stuff with neroli or jasmine in it.

Guerlain Vetiver
Dolce & Gabanna Pour Homme

The same stuff that makes me happy, also makes me sad. I read the "sad fragrances" thread before this one, and am finding myself thinking of the same fragrance for both: Un Jardin en Mediterranee.
Fragrances have no special influence on my mood.
I'll give you two :

Sel de Vetiver by The Different Company. SdV just chills me out, lifts me up and makes me fell great.

Tomato by Demeter. Man, every time I apply this I can't help smiling. Usually my Sunday morning scent, and I love it.

The end of a bad day calls for a few sprays of Guerlain Jicky EDT, then maybe some Shalimar EDC at bedtime.

L'Artisan's Piment Brûlant would be my tonic of choice. Duchaufour's vibrant and hyper-realistic take on the lush verdancy of a vegetable garden right after a good dousing of rain in the dead of summer. A few spritzes will engulf any careworn soul in the sharpness of fresh-cut coriander and basil leaf, tangy tomato stem, a medley of spicy bright-green capsicum, flesh accidentally exposed to the surrounding elements, all shimmering in the heat over rain-sopped soil as it radiates from that final dusting of slightly bitter cocoa. Albeit brief, this roller coaster ride through a holodeck recreating the mid-summer damp of a sun-filled greenhouse transports, to be sure!

Batucada will also do the trick!
