After a successful test the day before yesterday of Marc Jacobs for men which I got compliments and totally loved the scent yesterday's test of Mugler cologne wasn't as much of a happy ending. It started off well and for the first few hours I really liked what I was experiencing but by the end of the day my head kind of ached, I felt like I was gonna hurl a couple times when I got a good whiff of myself and I couldn't wait to get home to scrub this 'soapiness' off me with a pleasing cucumber/melon body wash. I still like it but won't wear it again.

Undeterred I have a few more samples to try. Should I go with Fresh Cannabis Santal, D&G pour Homme, Boss from Hugo Boss or Fahrenheit 32 from Dior? I also picked up a cheap bottle of Tommy Bahama from Marshall's since there nothing better than smelling like a bamboo hut when you live in Arizona! Hah!

Hmmmmmm...... decisions, decisions and I have about 1o hours before I'm leaving the house on the morning of the 17th to decide. It's still the 16th here!

First sampling of:

Hermes - Un Jardin Apres la Mousson.

A bit too much cantaloupe, although underneath the melon it does evoke the smell of wet greens. It's not a bad fragrance, and I can see why many might like it. However, it's a bit too uni-dimensional for me, a bit too thin, and I'm not that fond of cantaloupe. 2.5/5 stars.

Annayaké Miyabi Man (sample), with Vera Wang for Men on one arm.
On me the two seem very similar, though not at all 'sweet' (as some reviewers say).

Welcome Mel_Lou, and happy birthday Indiscreet, wherever you may be my dear!!!

Today my DD "graduates" from elementary school, and I am risking her wrath to take 2 minutes to post before I head out to the celebration!

Decided to lemming Petruccij from yesterday in Marc Jacobs Ivy Splash. Despite having no "ivy accord" in the notes, it does smell to me like green, slightly waxy ivy leaves! And other wonderful things, too.

Ivy splash:
Top Notes of Nutmeg, Mandarin, Cardamom. Middle Notes of Candy Cane accord, Orris. Base Notes of Suede, Tonka, Vetiver, Sandalwood.
