I've been meaning to test Brandy again. I love the smell of apples, but have not found many great apple fragrances (don't care for the Donna Karan Delicious scents). My favorite apple just happens to be one of my all time favorite scents, Neil Morris's October. Still, I wouldn't mind some variety!

Today I'm on the hunt for a great coconut fragrance. Testing Sarah Bolton's Soul on my left wrist and, while I think the pineapple in it is excellent, the coconut just seems to weigh the whole thing down into Pina Colada 'ville. But I just put it on. Maybe over time...??

Klateau bahradda nicteaux to you, kbe.

Yesterday's revisitation with Creed Aubepine Acacia and i Coloniali Yuzu Splash put me in a green state. Today I'm going with what I have in quantity (but thinking the Yuzu splash is a must-buy): Molinard de Molinard

A Travers le Miroir. I really don't wear this one enough!
IOn my left hand, Mitsouko thanks to a mini in the post. Much more gentle than I expected.... and on the other hand a vintage Alyssa Ashley for Houbigant Musk. I can smell real musk in this one I think.

I love the sound of that Terre Hermes...
Kbe, I love Gucci PH! Of all my husband's fragrances, I like that best, even more than his Original Santal.

Not ready to choose my SotD yet.

Charmes et Feuilles by TDC. Somehow I've really got into it this year.
I'll probably go green myself later, but at the moment I'm wearing Fresh Hesperides, thanks to Mimi Gardenia. to Mims! It's delicious! I'm not sure what I'll wear later when I spruce myself up for the evening, but I seem to be on the same wavelength as a few others here. Really craving something green.

Happy Birthday to Magnifiscent!

TGIF! I hope everyone is enjoying the day.

Good Morning All. Ronni, you mentioned you were on a quest for a coconut fragrance, I can't help you with that, but I did use a delightful new body wash this morning. It was Softsoap 'Coconut Scrub body buff wash' mmmm, delightful, what a great way to wake up your senses! My SOTD is Fresh 'Citron de vigne'

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if this is privileged information (I know I feel privileged!) but today is a very special day, for on this day a few years ago, a wee she-wolf pup was born! Today we call her Twolf, and we celebrate this day upon which she came into the world and made it a more wonderful place!

(((Happy Birthday Timberwolf!!)))

I hope you don't mind that I spilled the beans, but as an Ambassador of Birthdays here on Basenotes, you should also have many good wishes and tasty cakes!

Wishing you the most wonderful year ever!!

And in her honor, I'm wearing the ground-breaking - stunning - vintage Coriandre from Jean Couturier. Another green and gorgeous rosey chypre, and absolutely one of the best!

Y'all have a great day!
Happy birthday, Magnifiscent, and also to our glorious Twolf!

Today I'm in Parfumerie Generale's Yuzu Ab Irato, and it is just not doin' it for me. Too powdery, not enough "oomph" to the floral or watery elements to suit me. Yuzu fans will probably enjoy this, however. Are you listening, Ms. Quarry?

Yuzu Ab Irato notes: Japanese yuzu fruit, spearmint, thyme, hyssop, myrtle, pepper, hyacinth, magnolia, jasmine and bamboo.

Guerin Pierre- 'Narcisse, Morpheus & Iris', 1811

Frederic Malle - Iris Poudre

Sumptuous, this fragrance spoils me for any others.
A rich floral that knows when to stop and turn green.
Never overpowered, I am swept into a gentle tumble of glory
and breathe great pleasurable clouds.

Notes;
Top: bergamot, orange, rosewood, ylang-ylang, carnation
Heart: magnolia, jasmine, muguet, violetta-rose, aldehydes
Base: iris, musk, amber, vanilla, sandalwood, ebony, tonka bean and vetiver

kumquat, that is stunning! If it smells half as beautiful as it looks, you are heavenly today.

Happy birthday, Twolf!

Since I have been trying to educate my nose, I thought it would be fun to grab a random sample-in-a-baggie without looking at the label, apply blind, and see if I can tell what I'm wearing by scent alone. I was also curious whether I would experience the scent differently if I didn't know when I put it on what notes to expect. Well, my blind pick is clearly Serge Lutens Daim Blond again! Opens very sweet and then the apricotty suede rolls in. I think there's some cedar in there too, don't know if it's a listed note ...

Twolf, have a happy, howling day!!! Happy birthday!!!

I'm enjoying my Fleur d'Iris by MPG. Green, non-powdery iris.
Today I'm sampling Xerjofff Shingl. The industrial-strength iris in the beginning is overpowering, but once it settles down I'm liking it. A lot.

So far two of my little spray sample vials from Luckyscent have malfunctioned. One wouldn't spray, and the sprayer cap of this one was loose so some of the perfume had leaked out. It fell right off when I tried to use it, so I had to remove it and dab. Bummer.

I'm rediscovering AL No. 23 today. I initially thought it "meh," but I suddenly find it irresistible. Go figure. Have a lovely day, all.

Happy day to the celebrants!

Pulled out an "old" decant of 31 Rue Cambon. Why have I not been grabbing this more often?
Glorious day here - much too nice to be stuck inside fighting the urge to bang one's head against the wall.
Calling family for next week's graduation celebration then dinner tonite with friend from 3rd grade & her partner.
She's started sniffing at me ever since I showed up in Field Notes. Whoa!
Wonder what she'll think of 31?

Good weekend, all!

Happy Birthday Twolf! What a sweet wolfie she is, too! MWAH!

Happy birthday to Magifiscent as well.

DSH's American Beauty applied last night & still lovely.

My daughter is still home sick, so I've been off line most of the time. Blood test yesterday to see if that can identify the underlying issues.

Love you guys!

Happy Birthday, Twolf!

Today, I am wearing Poivre by Caron, not DH's fave but I packed him off to a college expedition to China today and have time to wear what I like. Expecting some visitors and have to work here and there, but will be alone to please myself for a bit. YAY. Eating all his least favorites for dinner watching movies he would hate and talking on the phone for hours at a time. Once in a while this is paradise found!

Oh guys, you are so sweet and thoughtful -- I have been avalanched with PMs, and those from my BN family are the best -- Ermano himself (Magnifiscent or just Mag for many of you, my sweet little handsomer and smarter Italian twin), Ms.R (long time no hear, I was about to send a search expedition, wished me a happy Wofltag -- Dragontag is coming soon dear!), Ms. Tao sent me that Brandy that I am wearing for a couple of days now and also I got a few snail-mail cards (Ashley, Lisa, James and Rita). Thank you, you made me feel special, appreciated and lucky.

It is also Sir Paul McCartney and Isabella Rossellini birthday. They are sort of connected with the fragrant world, I have been told.

I will wear Coriandre for the evening. No fragrant gifts yet, but the weekend is coming and I will be off -- and Internet is right here and TJMaxx is only 85 miles away. And we will probably go out to eat Chinese because I like it so (take your pick, 17 to 37 miles away).

Happy Birthday to Twolf and Magnifiscent! June Babies are the Bestest!!

I've been slackin on my posting. I'm wearing the very lovely Acqua Fiorentina. I finally figured out what this perfume reminds of. It reminds me of Estee Lauder's White Linen or White Linen Breeze maybe. I love White Linen. Can't figure out why I haven't purchased it in a while though. Hmmm
