The Most Unobtrusive and Light Scent on Hot Days

(Please stick to Main-Stream Colognes, no "Musc Ravegur" (lol sorry i'm not that into niche), or "Bond no.9" stuff, but more so Department store/Mall Colognes)

The most unobtrusive, 99.9% cannot "not" like cologne, that is very light, fresh, refreshing, and above all, soothing/calm/radiates freshness on hot sunny days when you are at a meeting, with friends, wherever, and with whatever clothes.

Mine are;

Bulgari Aqua

Issey Miyake

Halston Unbound

Any you have? Thanks.

Cool Water is my go to frag for those occasions.

^Somebody mentioned in another thread the Cool W was the absolute WINNER with girls...is this true? I think it's ridiculous to say that ! I mean, it just smells like old laundry or detergent..what is So unique about this?

Ambre Sultan. But why not!

Seriously though - L'Eau par Kenzo fits the bill.

Artisan/John Varvatos
Monsieur de Givenchy
Azzaro Pure Vetiver

I understand what you mean, but I think that what girls tend to like is not always what male basenoters think is "special" or "unique". There's a difference between finding something that you think is great and interesting, and finding something that gets a high percentage of female compliments.

Eau de Cartier is nice and light. I bought a nice sample bottle at a shopping mall for $5. Cheap for such a nice fragrance. Give it a try.

Azzaro Now

Versace PH

Aqua di Gio
Gendarme

We have tropical climate, so heat is here every day. My light scents: Agua Fresca, Bergamotto Marino, Eau d'Orange Verte, Eau de Lalique, Un Jardin sur le Nil, Vetiver Hombre, and Vetyver Lanvin.

I'm no expert, but a couple that I have come across that might fit the bill:

Azzaro Chrome
Kenzo pour Homme
Hermes d' Orange Vert (sp?) (very nice but the test spray didn't last 1/2 hour on me)
Chanel Egoiste Platinum - one of my all time favs. To me it's a very clean, light scent but also very classy and elegant. I really like to wear it during the warmer weather personally

+1 on Mugler Cologne. You can't get anymore unobtrusive
post #15 of 34
Mugler Cologne can actually get very cloying and sickly. I almost got sick from it.
Heeley Sel Marin

(doesn't Chandler Burr's listing it in NY Times make it mainstream)?
You can get Gendarme at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, so I vote Gendarme.

Prada Infusion D'Homme. It's the perfect clean scent, IMO.

This one as well

Versace Eau Fraiche - this 1 screams fresh exotic fruits to me
Acqua Di Gio - ...
Eau de Rochas is always quite cooling on those particularly oppressive summer days.
Dune pour Homme
Monsieur de Givenchy
Platinum Égoïste
Allure Homme Sport
Allure Édition Blanche
Chanel Pour Monsieur

... to name a few!
Old Spice White Water - and you don't even need to go to a department store to get it
post #24 of 34
Bvlgari Aqua
Bvlgari Aqua Marine - a synthetic mess, but I found out personally recently that this one is great hot weather fragrance!
Boss in motion edition white
Hugo XY
Hugo by Hugo Boss
Davidoff Cool Water
Azzaro Chrome (lighter application)
Versace Pour Homme

Mugler Cologne and Dior Eau Sauvage (wish both had acceptable longevity on me).

Kouros seems to work for me in hot weather but unobtrusive it ain't.

If you happen to come across a Banana Republic store, check out Banana Republic Classic. It's unisex as well. My wife and I really like this stuff.
I guess you could think of this as kinda a nice change from AdG. A nice refreshing light grapefruit scent.
I'll add Karl Lagerfeld Kapsule Light - it definitely is what it claims to be... light and refreshing!
Dior Cologne Blanche
Bulgari pour Homme or Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne.

Definately NOT Acqua di Gio like someone mentioned. A louder
and more tenacious (sometimes even obnoxius) fragrance is
hard to find.
+1 on the classy Bulgari pour Homme.
+1 on Eau de Cartier... I also find myself wearing Guerlain Vetiver on those kind of occasions.
Pour Monsieur is the last thing I would wear a hot summer day. It also has serious sillage and is hardly unobtrusive. I think of it as a rich, winter, wool-sweater fragrance.
Eau Sauvage would be my choice: light, bracing, refreshing, only faintly detectable after an hour or two. Classic.

Hermes Eau de Gentiane Blanche

Unobtrusive -- inconspicuous. These are something that may be noticed and only remembered as "he smelled nice" as they are somewhat disguised by design:

Clean Fresh Laundry (Clean) -- "But it's for women!" they scream. Try it.
Clean Ultimate (Clean) -- See above.
Warm Cotton (Clean) -- Try it.
Clean Men (Clean) -- Perhaps.
