Good morning everyone First of all thank you for all the support lately. It means a lot to me. The eye is stable now,but not that much better. Hopefully things will get better once I'm done with all this mess on the personal level. Sotd is Mitsouko parfum ( new formulation)

SL Daim Blond today.

I'm scent twin with Inees baby! (Just corrected my typing: Previously said I'm "scent twit," and that may be the more accurate statement.) I'm in modern Mitsouko edp.

Evangeline, do you have power and a roof this morning? Heavy rain, lightning, 100 mph winds and tornadoes plowed through last night. We're okay in our castle fortress, but 23,000 are without electricity today and six homes are completely gone.

Knit at Nite, you're going to have to reset your clock for EST or you'll be a zombie in Boston … albeit the best-smelling zombie ever.

In a nerdy inside joke with myself I'm in Alien today because I'm looking forward to this evening's season finale of V 2010 on SyFy. As it happens, this gorgeous out-of-this-world jasmine suits the sweaty weather today.

I walked the dog very early this morning to beat the heat, but it was still very humid. It was nice to smell the honeysuckle and mimosas and other things wafting languidly (that seems like a cliché but it really does do that) on the humid morning air. I'm now wearing Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien . I need to hurry up and finish this old bottle, as I think it's about to turn.

I hope our friends in the midwest are all safe. ♥

Thanks to our lovely, generous Chaya, I'm wearing Nina Ricci Farouche vintage parfum. A beautifully made floral chypre, it's soft, well-blended and pretty, not as challenging as I find so many in this category to be.

Best to all!

Luvvin' yer joke. Luvvin' Alien also - does for me what Angel does not!!

But....

...fondly recalling pink sandy beaches and white roofed pastel houses nestling on green hillocks
(and I LIVE at the beach!!)
I'm summoning....

...an intelligent kind of VIW only not so brazen and with a hint of ocean and cedar.

Hello everyone!

I'm in the incredible Laguna today. I love this a bunch, and I can't wait for the new one.

Wow Quarry- completely gone?? Tornadoes are so freaking scary. No, no, we had nothing like that over here. Some wind and rain, a bit of thunder and lightning, but it blew through so quickly we barely took notice of it (although the incredibly annoying emergency alerts reminded us every ten minutes that Waukesha was in for it!) I'm so glad y'all are okay, with a roof, power and everything! It's absolutely beautiful over here - peaceful and quiet, sunny and warm. We have a lot to be thankful for!

Y'all have a wonderful day!

EL Pleasures. There are actually some clouds today. I wish it would rain a little, at least to settle the dust.

June gloom here on the west coast...I'm wondering when we will have summer. SotD is again Parfumerie Generale Cuir d'Iris. After my all day wearing yesterday, I noticed a lovely soft amber in the drydown more than 12 hours after application (!).
Yesterday I sampled Soivohlé Oudh Lacquer - love it! Today I'm sampling a scent made by a fellow yahoo perfumemaking group member. I like that one, too!

And, ohh, Laguna. It's making me want to get it again...

Augustina's WOODLAWN by Susanne Lang.
Lovely limey, yuzu-y woods.
Pity it's so blastedly fleeting.
Someone convince me that Climat would not be too big for a fully staffed office tomorrow.

Off to finish reading the Rolling Stone article on Stan and wondering *why* his staff could not self-censor.
(Oh, right. That's their way, silly. Your DB is one of them!)

Hugs, a cuppa, & comforting pats on the back to those in need of them.

I'm in Guerlain Cologne du Parfumeur from a sample sent by a kind BNer. This one, I could happily buy a FB of! And respray often, because it's here, and it's gone, but while it's here, it's just the best citrus!

School lets out today and DD will be home in a few minutes. I spent the morning running my mom to the Dr. and the grocery store. *Whew*

Enjoying my new Heure Exquise.... yummmmm. ("discovered" it in the recent Iris thread) Just slightly green on me, I get more warm spicy, rosy-iris sandalwood.

Like my new phrase from Quarry: scent-twit! (Glad the storms didnt get you!)
Sending a little Houston summer to Asha, weve got plenty to go around.
How do you like the Like This, mikeperez?
Best wishes & comfort scents to Ineespenes.

We're back from our annual family summer get-together (with 19 of my in-laws!) I couldn't post easily while there, but enjoyed keeping up with all-y'alls postings on my iphone. I took a bunch of 2ml decants with me -- I even got some "you smell good"s when wearing Iris 39 and Agua Allegoria Angelique Lilas. (I'm considering a back up bottle of the latter...).

Queen Quarry, I think we'd all be pleased to be your "scent twit", anytime. So sorry about the damage in your area. Tornadoes and hurricanes are much scarier than earthquakes IMO. Earthquakes either happen or they don't but there are actual "tornado" and "hurricane" seasons. Aren't there?

Anyway, FEAR NOT, I shall be un-zombie-fied by the time of the meet-up! I'm actually flying in on Wednesday with a merry band of 5 work colleagues. We are receiving a national Award of Merit at the NAHRO (Natl Association of Housing and Redevelopment Org) for innovation in Public Housing Resident Services on Thursday and are showcasing it with other award recipients on Friday. So by Saturday I shall be fully shifted to EST- just not the East Coast humidity.

SOTD= day #2 in PRADA INFUSION D'IRIS

Glad you are safe'n'sound in WI, ladies. People at work were saying the same about this evening here, we'll see, I do not believe so -- it seemed this year staying to the south of us.

CRose, SC seems like a popular vacation destination this year, doesn't it? I was also planning to wear Heure Exquise one day this week, even got it jotted down on a piece of paper (together with YSL Champagne -- not a single scent before or after that has gathered me so many compliments -- Nicolai Juste un Reve, Chanel Bel Respiro and Fleur des Comores MPG).

That PG we -- me and Asha -- put on in the morning is still going strong, it is not very loud but has quite a tenacity.

Tara, you smell exquisite, as usual.

Hey! Congratulations on that. You'll think I'm mocking, but I'm not: I find this subject really interesting. I derive much pleasure from learning how others succeed in fixing some of the woes of the world.

which means I'm scent twins with
Paula and Le Grand Duc, oh, heaven!

Congratulations knit_at_nite on the award,
it's wonderful (and only fair!) to be recognized for good work!

This evening I am sampling DSH perfume's offering for the Mystery Of Musk project- Musk Eau Natural ,makes me think indecent thoughts not suitable for this proper and upright ladies' forum !

Congratulations, knit_at_nite, on the honors for you and your team!
Quarry, I really like your new coinage. We are all "scent twits" from time to time, no?
I started the day in Bahiana (blah on me) and ended it in Nuit de Tubereuse (anything but blah on me).

I do too lillybelle. And the juice inside. It's been my favorite for a long time. I have worn it less over the last few months while exploring other frags, but I've thoroughly enjoyed "reconnecting" with it today.

Quarry, I watch the news this mornign about the tornadoes, that is scary, I am glad you are fine
Knit, congratulations and have a safe trip

Today I wore Papyrus de Ciane (thanks dear Asha!). I had bought a small sample from Luckyscent, but dabbing simply does not do justice to this perfume. I enjoyed if very much, it is green and spicy, very unisex and it was wonderful for a very busy day.

Papyrus de Ciane Notes (thanks to Luckyscent) are:
Bergamot, galbanum, neroli, broom, solar notes, lavender, mugwort, clove, incense, cistus labadanum, hedione, vetiver, Mousse de Saxe, Silvanone, white musk
