Hello,

A friend sprayed some of this amazing cologne on me the other day and I totally fell for it.
Could you please explain which is the RIGHT version to buy?

Is it this one

or this one

I do not mean the pouch.
The thing is, these are both sprays. Please tell me which inscription looks original to you.

I'd be much obliged to hear from you fellow Basenoters.

Kind regards,
Pawel

Please don't tell me if you own it or you think it's awful - because it does not help at all.

I'm hoping for a serious reply.

From what I can tell both versions are the same. Mine included the pouch but I sense no difference when smelling one that came in a tube which is the current packaging.

There is another formulation, called Eau de Grey Flannel. This one is markedly different from the original Grey Flannel. It's an attempt at a "fresh" interpretation, one that, in my opinion, is not successful. Here's a picture:

Its all under the bottle. The pic on top (the bottle i have now) will have "EA (Elizabeth Arden) Fragrances" on the label underneath. I don't know when EA bought the licence to produce GF. what i know is that EA is great at reformulations (if they do indeed reformulate). GF smells the (i would guess) same today as since i used it in the 80s.

EA's re-issues of Giorgio BH for Men, Red for Men and Halston Z-14 are very good, IMO.

Thank you so much Perfaddict!

As has been suggested, I don't think there is a 'bad' reformulation of GF. Good stuff! Apply lightly though, too much can be a bit disconcerting.
