Wearing Guerlain’s Terracotta Voile d’Ete from a sample that a kind Basenoter sent me ages ago. Carnation and yummy vanilla. Lovely! You can find it online relatively inexpensively. But I’ve already spent too much this month on crafting supplies so must curb my impulse. I’m loving carnation/clove and also anise this week. Thank goodness the temperature has dropped! Woo hoo, yay! It’s cool and breezy this morning (72 F currently). I almost forgot what weather like this felt like. The dog got her first good walk in days and days this morning, so she’s all happy now too.

ineespenes sounds good this morning. I’m glad your eye has improved! ((hug))

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hello everyone!

I'm taking advantage of the cool weather, too, in Balenciaga for the second day in a row. This time it's vintage Quadrille, from 1955. I've recently been appreciating the wonders of leather, and this might be my favorite leather in my wardrobe...well, it's near the top, at any rate. Ultra-plush and smooth, with soft spices, luscious ripe plums and lots of well-worn, luxurious leather on a gorgeous ambery base.
Very rich...opulent, actually but with a sophisticated restraint. Quadrille is dramatic, but never gaudy or flamboyant. I highly recommend it, especially to anyone who likes plums with their leather.

Y'all have a fantastic day!
today it's my first wearing of Chanel No.5 Eau Premier. Dated the bottle to about a year ago but for some reason it's not as creamy and smokey as I remember. Still, nice juice though and I'm really enjoying the experience. This is what fragrance is all about!

Ineespenes- I am so glad your eye has improved !

This morning ,Verdigris by Bellyflowers Perfumes.

Delrae Bois de Paradis this morning.
Quarry and Lilybelle, you smell particularly beautiful this morning. L, that Terracotta has become one of my top favorites for warm weather.

Well folks, I'm about to leave for my last day of work! I chose Neil Morris Mariner for the occasion, and very casual clothing as I have an office to finish cleaning out! :-)
Congrats on your last work day, Haunani! I'm sure it will be poignant, but a new world awaits tomorrow!

Inees, glad things are looking better today.

My cat seems to be out of sorts so our family trip plans for tomorrow have gone back on the shelf. He has a vet appointment for this afternoon. Poor little guy! He's got such a huge personality (he's an orange striped tabby), being this subdued is really unnatural for him. Hopefully it's just hairballs and not kidney problems or something else that is serious.

Anyway, I need a comfort scent today and am in Jour de Fête.

Enjoy your last day at work Haunani!!

Haunani!! What an exciting time for you!
Congratulations on your fabulous career, and here's to your fabulous future! Whoo-hoo!

30 Roses - oh no! I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything's okay with kitty. Please give him an extra little hug from me. (( >^..^< ))
Another day of stubborn fog here on the coast. Perfect for the gorgeous Guerlain Rose Barbare. Twins with pomander - hi!
inees, I am very happy your eyes are better!
Haunani, congratulations on your last day. I haven't smelled Neil's Mariner but like many of his scents, I am sure it's fabulous!
30 Roses, I know what you mean. Sometimes you can just "tell" when the fur babies are not themselves. I hope yours is going to be ok.

I got into one of the drawers this morning and pulled out Ballenciaga Paris to wear today. As tdem said, our horrible heat has broken and it's quite nice. This is lovely.

Vintage Ma Griffe for today. Terrific stuff.
Yay, Haunani! Congratulations!

(This is to go with your Neil Morris Mariner)...
I'm wearing L de Lolita Lempicka Fleurs de Corail today, a TJ Maxx blind buy. Lighter than the original L, but still has that nice drydown. Yummy!
Inees, so glad you're on the mend (in all ways!)

Gentle healing vibes for various feline friends, whether they need them or not, and Haunani, enjoy that last day and your transition to even greater and better adventures!

GLORIOUS weather here at last, as Pomander points out, and I decided it needed to be an Annick Goutal day, but got stuck choosing between two. Sooo...

On wrists: Annick Goutal Eau du Ciel.
On elbows: Annick Goutal Les Nuits d'Hadrien.

Strangely enough, they work well together, though I don't think I'd actually want to physicially layer them. Very satisfying, especially when my skin gets warmed in the sun (strolling at lunch - I'm office-bound today)...

Eau du Ciel notes: Linden tea, iris, rosewood from Brazil, violette leaves.
Les Nuits d'Hadrien notes:Bergamot, icy Sicilian lemon, green Mandarin, tangerine, cypress, basil, cumin, juniper bay, ylan-ylang, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, amber, white musk.

Think I'll deck myself out in EL Private Collection today...green and woody...

ineespenes
- I've chosen for you a song for the day!
"I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me down
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day ...
"
Huanani, cant wait to hear what you do with retirement!
("Look straight ahead there's nothing but blue skies " ...continuing the song...)
I hope your kitty is ok 30 roses...

Congratulations to Huanani on your retirement, and the beginning of a new stage in life.
Good luck with your next step in life also Inees. Happy to hear you are recovering.
Not a big cat lover myself, but hope yours gets well 30 Roses. I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip.

For the second day in a row I am in:

It's ok Yea...I decided that I need to start thinking about what's good for me for a change...And with no support from former bf I ended up dumping him and will find a place for my own. Probably a studentapartment the rest of my Bachelor. Actually looking forward to it...Even though I'm sad too.
Lots of wise words and encouragement for Inees here - glad to hear that you are looking forward. (((inees)))

Haunani! Last day! Imagine from me...a big maile lei to celebrate your career. Will PM you soon, dear H...

ComDiva -
Love your AG combo! Sounds just about perfect for summer. I must try it sometime soon...

SOTD: Atelier Orange Sanguine (from a sample)

I get a lot of orange (fruit, not the flower). No "plastic" note or waxiness. It's very different from the Neroli from the same line (which ended up a little too masculine for me). Orange Sanguine persisted for a few hours in the humid warmth of this last day of June.

Hope your last day of June is going well, dear BNers!

Even though, or maybe because,
they are nothing alike, I prefer
this over the original PM anyday.

Home from the vet with my kitty. Apparently some inflammation in the small intestine, cause unknown.

Exam, x-rays, blood work (results tomorrow), administration of fluids subcutaneously, injected and oral meds: $291.75 (ouch!)

I think he may be on the mend, though…he ate half a can of his favorite food when we got home and so far, he's kept it down.
lately, 2 "vulgar florals"

Hi back at ya Turquoisewater! Judging by the scents you wear, I think we're scent twins who were separated at birth. Hope to meet you someday.

Poor kitty ! I hope he will be much better soon ,30 Roses.

Chanel Gardenia this afternoon- light, lovely .
Ineespenes, good luck on this new chapter of your life, sans bf. It will be ok.

30 Roses, I hope your kitty will be feeling better soon.

I'm wearing Atelier Trefle Pur. This stuff is really developing well and holding its own in this hot Arizona sun.
Glad things are improving for you Ineespenes! You "sound" much brighter, anyway.

Today I wore a reasonable (unlike the other day's over the top application) spray of Turbulences and it was a great day skin scent. The BF is still here (and we're canning tomatoes tonight) so nothing scentwise (other than tomato leaves and fruit) this evening.
I'm wearing Coney Island today, one of my "happy" scents.

Congratulations, Haunani!!

30Roses, glad to hear kitty is dong better. I was worried about my dog, Cali this week. She was limping and not wanting to walk and acting pretty pitiful, but seems to be doing much better.

Sending more hugs to inees ...

Appetite is a good sign. I'm glad he seems to be on the mend, 30 Roses. I sympathize with you on the cost of pet health care!

w3pearl, "vulgar florals" - I apporve!

I'm wearing a refresher of Terracotta Voile d'Ete as SotE. I said I wouldn't buy anything this month becuase I've shot my fun money on other things, but I ordered a bottle of this today anyway.
Glad to hear about your eye improving Inees!

Haunani, congrats! Hope you enjoy retirement!!

I wore Eau des Merveilles today, craving summer so badly. Well I lie, it's now thursday morning here - checking out the SotD for inspiration. I think I'm feeling the vulgar florals too w3pearl
post #53 of 63
Poor kitty cat! Sending good vibes.

Seems like retirement is a never-achievable dream right now... sigh.

I am in L'Occitane Cherry EDT (Cerisier) again. Last day of June and I scored another double wear for the month. I've been pretty all over the place this month, sampling a lot.
Krigler's Lieber Gustav for me today.

I went with one of my standbys, Bath and Body Works Vanilla Noir, today. I highly recommend it to my fellow vanilla fanatics.

Awww... thank you for all your good wishes, the sailboat ride, and the virtual fragrant maile lei! Retirement still doesn't seem real; I keep pinching myself! The last few weeks have been quite a ride plenty of emotional moments and it's all been surprisingly tiring.

Inees, I hope YOUR transition goes smoothly and leads to happier times for you.

30 Roses, please give your kitty a kiss on the top of his head and tell him it's from me.

More Mariner for my SotD. The listed notes are Italian bergamot, Damask rose, geranium, white musk, cedar, and sandalwood. It has a simplicity, balance and fresh feel that I love!
