I was actually going to post this exact same thread the other day. I live in Las Vegas and with super dry air reaching temps of 110 in the afternoon, I get about 2 hours of longevity even from my strongest fragrances, with about 20 minutes from my weaker ones. Incredibly frustrating.

Yes,I found this frequently happens in heat. It's crap, I agree ! ( Super dry here too however even in humidity ,because of sweating, I found fragrances just didn't evolve as they should )

Don't have this problem in UK ;o)

Yup. Oklahoma summers are notoriously humid and that's the killer here... when it isn't over 100, then it's just the heat that cooks it off. It just means I "get" to apply more often if I am out and about in the heat.

When I lived in Vegas I had to wear a LOT more scent for it to last. Now that I live in a humid climate it seems to last longer with fewer sprays.

Scents do seem to evolve diffferently in the humidity to me. Ones that I thought were really weak and not very good (like Azzaro - Pure Cedrat and Lanvin - Vetivyr) bloom fantasticly here.

Contrary to belief about sweat making a fragrance project more, I gotta disagree. If you sweat it'll just water down the fragrance and make it slide right off your skin. At least with my experiences, I notice this. If it's just a sunny day and less humidity, then the sun just heats up the skin and body temperature which creates that wonderful projection.

I find the sun to help my fragrances, but too much humidity to make them disintegrate.

This I completely agree with !
It is exactly what happens to me in humidity. I can't win ....dry and hot- little sillage, fragrance has to be applied frequently. High humidity - sweat diluted the fragrance even extrait, and you don't get very much at all. This has happened with Mitsouko ,Shalimar in extrait form . It does irritate the hell out of me.

So the question is... where is the perfect place ,for a perfume nut to live ?

dnc-I reckon the UK is pretty good............

I will try to wear something on clothes only, something already linear or with nice top notes. The scent is not gonna to evolve but at least if I can smell something it would be good.

I haven't been out of the US, so can't really say. But Colorado and areas in California have fantastic conditions. Ideal to me would be sunny with a breeze. Here in Florida we have those days every now and then, but not much lately.. humidity.. global warming.. the world is ending!
