GENDARME

(My first time wearing this since I had it on when I came down with a case of food poison a couple of months ago. I had hoped that the reason I haven't reached for it recently had nothing to do with negative memories. However wearing it today I think that may be the case. It still smells really good. I'm just not enjoying it as much as I used to, and it was one of my favorites. I hope it is just too soon, and giving it more time I will love it again in the future.)

Pleasantly cool coastal weather around here, and I've been in the mood for old-school scents recently. Today it's Aramis 900 Herbal Cologne.

Me too. Havana was my SotD. Road testing it in very hot, humid weather. Light application only. It performed very well. I had this odd episode late in the day in which I kept flashing back to the M7 I wore last night. Seriously. I kept thinking, "Is it my clothes? My watch? How is it that the M7 stayed with me all this time?" Eventually I figured out it was just the drydown of Havana. New bottle, btw; I suppose it's been reformulated. Not bad stuff, but the late afternoon flashback made me want to have more of. . .

SotE: M7. Really, there's no excuse for wearing it on a hot steamy day. Other than I love it, miss it, and can't get enough of it.

Well, maybe not "can't get enough of it." You have to be careful about not over-applying. Just one or two sprays max. It actually works suprisingly well in summer, too.

Aqua Allegoria Lavande Velours by Guerlain

It gives me the crisp, medicinal jolt of jasmine that I want when I apply it and the silky, velvety, violet dry down to smooth it all out. The lavender stepchild of the Guerlain line, this is much more alive and vivid than Jicky or Mouchoir de Monsieur...perfect for warm summer nights like tonight.
