Did you know the longest word in the world's dictionary? here it is:

pneu⋅mo⋅no⋅ul⋅tra⋅mi⋅cro⋅scop⋅ic⋅sil⋅i⋅co⋅ vol⋅ca⋅no⋅co⋅ni⋅o⋅sis

and it is name of a silica disease

I did! We learned this in grade school. I guess no longer word has come about since then......

There's a small town in Wales called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch
There's more letters in this, but I'm guessing it's probably not in the dictionary ?

I remember learning about that! I know the full name of Titin is 189,819 letters but I guess doesn't really count as a "word"

Yes, my brother and I used to try to outdo each other saying it fast.

Then there is also antidisestablishmentarianism....

Entire world? Hardly. Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is indeed the longest "dictionary" word in English, though.

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu = 105

Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebsw erkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft = 79

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch = 58

And then there's this 189,819 letter monster: http://sarahmcculloch.appliedgeekery...gest-word.html

I LOVE this word, because in certain select (very select) situations, it's usable!

I think I've heard of that.

How about Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia: Phobia of Long Words

And another I always find interesting is that the full name for the city of Los Angeles is: El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ãngeles del RÃ*o de Porciúncula .
