Sometimes I am simply in awe of the really detailed knowledge that you, my fellow B'Ners have - and your ability to sort out specific notes and ingredients within any fragrance is mind boggling.
A friend of mine who is into wine once showed me some kind of a kit that he has that helps to identify certain tastes and characteristics in order to identify and categorize wines in orderly fashion.
Does something like that exist in the fragrance world? I guess there is always essential oils, but it seems that there are so many other basic chemicals that are used in perfumery, and I'm just wondering how I can accelerate my knowledge of those individual notes and compounds.
Thanks.
