Joining the Guerlain gang in Eau de Shalimar, a brighter, fluffier take on the original.

Happy Friday, all!

Today I am magically and mischievously resplendent in Mitsouko

For a Synchronized Guerlain Day I will do anything, even scrubbing off my previous fragrance.

Guet-Apens
The first version of Mathilde Laurent's masterpiece for Guerlain.

Have a wonderful Guerlain Day all
Ack! No Guerlain. I sprayed on Costume National 21 without thinking, but I do smell marvelous.
Scent sibling today with Sorcery of Scent in...

Chant d’Aromes edt
1962 Jean-Paul Guerlain
Mirabelle, Gardenia, Aldehydes, Jasmine, Honeysuckle, Cloves, Ylang-Ylang, Benzoin, Oliban, Vetiver, Heliotrope

I’m wearing CdA this morning thanks to a very generous Basenoter. I love the anticipation of sampling a famous classic for the very first time, waiting for the surprise to come. I just love that. This one is enchanting. Hmm...those notes above are missing the moss, which is evident in this to my nose. I get the clove/heliotrope/benzoin in the base as well. That's a nice combination.
I'm sorry, guys, but I couldn't resist Jean Patou's Joy today. All that jasmine, so luxurious and happy, and the civet in the drydown. Mmmm. But tonight I'll wear Guerlain! Promise. Probably vintage Derby, or maybe Habit Rouge. Or it might be L'Heure Bleue or Mitsouko or Champs-Elysees or Apre L'Ondee or Aqua Allegoria Angelique Lilas. I've not yet decided!

Have a good one!
Hello everyone!

I'm in Guerlain's Insolence, the dreaded edt actually, and I love it without shame....so insolent.

Y'all have a wonderful day!
Good morning all. Today I'm feeling ever so slightly hung over. Day 2 of the festival and I'm looking forward to Danko Jones and Mondo Generators in particular. Just hope I won't have to stand 1 hour in a queu like yesterday ( Danko plays first) Sotd is Coco edp...Simply forgot about Guerlain synch today!
Oh - and I didn't even know it was synchronized Guerlain day today! Lovely! And for once, it's not even a feminine I'm wearing... it's Guerlain's Habit Rouge 1988 EdT. Always a pleasure.

As promised, in Mouchoir de Monsieur this morning... and it smells lovely!

That sounds so luscious - How have I missed this wonderful thing?

I am going to be sitting on that Items for Sale thread now, hoping somebody who just can't wear honeysuckle or something will find a beat-up old bottle of it, only half used, up at a yard sale and toss it in the Scratch n' Dent bin...
Shalimar edt for me today!
It's too hot for the Guerlains that I have. Zo..... L'Artisan Timbuktu.... which is feeling kinda heavy.

Have a wonderful Guerlain Day all

BRAVO, Riannon!

It was hard to decide, but I've been neglecting this scent and no one's represented for it yet today - so I'm going with JICKY EDT

Edit- OOPS- must remeber to wear glasses when looking at bottle- actual concentration is "parfum de toilette"
Parure for me!
Carolina Herrera, I missed the part about wearing Guerlain. lol
post #35 of 65
Oh no! I forgot about Guerlain day. But I'm very happy in EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. It's been a while - I'd forgotten how wonderful this stuff is!
Oh geeze! Where to start!!

Wolfie and Mr. Wolfie been here brightening my life these past few days and I SWEAR I am sniffed out.

But to echo Dragon Lady NOTHING is too extreme to support Guerlain day. So I'll scrub off the EXcellent The Vert by Lapidus that Wolfie unearthed at Marshall's and go for Insolence (move over Evangeline -you and I know a good thing when we smell it!!)
Sote will be 180 Ans de Création by Guerlain since it is Guerlain day today! This little beauty doesn't get much love from me, I'm afraid. It's nice, but "nice" just isn't enough sometimes.

I love our synchronized Fridays! They are so much fun!!

I am wearing the lovely Angelique Noir today. I cannot keep my wrists away from my nose. I'm definitely getting a full bottle of this once my decant is gone. This is one that I cannot live without.

Champs-Élysées
As promised for Guerlain synch Friday, I am wearing Aqua Allegoria Angelique Lilas from a sample that came with my TPC lilac sampler. I loved it when I tried it first, but I didn't get any lilac -- only angelique in the top and the heart was all composed of ylang ylang for me. I tossed away the sample -- ah, to continue a search for a perfect lilac* -- and decided that I will come back to it not looking for lilac but approaching it on its own terms. So I am about to put it in and let myself see how I like it when the pressure of finding the perfect lilac is off!**

* which I think I did find later in the Highland Lilac of Rochester, thanks Twolf and TaoLady for recommending me that classic!
** well, as much off as it can be, since it's never completely off!
On this very hot day, I'm synchronizing in Aqua Allegria Anisia Bella - Tart, mysterious and cooling !

Have a great weekend everyone!

I was at work in Poole again today, so no 'official' perfume at all... I do pong a bit though!

I made some strawberry pudding when I got home so my fingers smell of vanilla and strawberries now.

Recipe here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...8&l=1e298eb42e

I'll be in Guerlain tomorrow! Day late

Have a great weekend, dear BNers!
My SoTA was Cruel Gardenia from a TPC sample, nice but not a SPECIAL e.g. worth the cost scent... and my SoT late afternoon is Bois d'Armenie from a sample, to stay with the Guerlain theme... am unsure what I think of BdA so far but it's early!

And congrats to de sociale sommerfugl Le Grand Duc on his 3000th post!

Happy Friday everyone.

A.M.: Scents-less house cleaning
P.M.: Out of synch (Guerlain-wise)

Too hot for anything but a touch of Sel de Vetiver.
Some synchronized fun, eh? Our thermometer reads 105° here, but luckily I had a sample of Eau de Guerlain, thanks to a special BNer. So I'm joining a couple of the fellas in this cooling lemon-herb concoction that actually develops quite a bit on the skin, for a cologne. Very nice!!!
My Jicky has dried down to a mere whisper of a skin scent, so now adding Eau de Cologne du Coq on top to refresh myself in today's So Cal heat.

in a few hours, will spritz some Allegoria Herba Fresca
post #60 of 65
Missed the synchronized Guerlain day My SotD was Rose d'Ete - love this! But I am wearing L'Instant tonight.
