What happened?
I just bought a bottle of Terre D'Hermes off the internet (fragrancex) and it was new wrapped in plastic but the serial number on the back of the bottle was grounded off. There were also signs of the grounding tool on the side and a little at the front too, but you can't notice it much.
How come resellers ground off the serial number?
