my 2 yr old smelled great when i got home from work today...

thats because he climbed up onto the sink and sprayed 95% of my green irish tweed all over himself. and the bathroom. and the sink. everywhere. the bottle is dripping with wet cologne. theres a wetspot under the bottle. i wanted to try and scoop it up. like a drug addict. i know he has no idea how much it costs or what $139 means. but jeez. i have a bottle of brut in there. i have cheap bottles aplenty. but he had to go for my best one.i can smell him right now. it will be quite a while before i can replace that. i swear sometimes i must be being punished for something. has this happened to anyone else? its funny- i put my cologne shelves up higher than they can reach too.

Another problem is that if you get a new bottle the smell will probably take you back to that moment and your happy 2-year-old. He'll have stolen the magic of the scent from you--you won't be able to think it smells like you anymore!

Time to break out the Davidoff and see if he'll go for that next time.

haha. I love it. Yes, it has happened to me with my little nephew. Luckly he did it with a miniature. I have scents that have cost me up to 450 each. so now when he comes over, I lock my room.

But since is a little frangrance addict, I bought him his own bottle of Guerlain Baby cologne he can use when he comes over, ha!

Yes, they do things like that... drawing on walls that have been recently painted, drawing on one's favourite books, using decorative objects as toys, etc. etc. Welcome to the amazing wolrd of parenting! Which, BTW, I love.

He does have good taste!

Once, when my boys were little, they poured an entire brand new (and expensive) bottle of face moisturizer into the toilet because they liked the way it "made shapes" when it hit the water. Of course that was still better than the time my love-sick eight year old son carved the name of his crush in the hood of my 6 month old car with a ball point pen.

I agree. I feel your pain, but it's gotta be kind of an adorable minor tragedy. And when he gets older, you can give him a lot of sh*t for it!

My 19 month year old girl (1 year 7 months) comes every day in the morning to the place I store my frags and makes "sniffing" faces, with a funny noise showing her wrist. That means "please apply some nice perfume" in her body language!!
Every time I put something different to her and she smiles and sniff with pleasure....
our children copy everything that we do, and that put us a lot of respondibility.
Love being a dad!!!!!

Darren, that is such a cute tale! I got my perfume start around that age, too. I dumped a bottle of my mother's Chanel No. 5 extrait on myself and had to be rushed to hospital with allergic reaction! LOL!

I thought I had it bad when my 2 year old emptied out my mini bottle of Calvin Klein CKIN2U. The mini bottle is not very kid friendly. It had an easy to remove cap and a large opening.

If this is of any consolation to you: When I was four I took a tape (one of those old cassettes) of my father's and recorded a little story I made up on it. Very sweet - unfortunately by doing so I erased some extremely rare recording by the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra (apparenty hard to come by in the 70ies...).

i gotta ask- because i really dont know- what costs $450??? and is it worth it? i always thought pasha must be uber expensive, it just sounds luxurious to me.

i dont know. its cheaper- thats good- but it smells thinner to me... sort of alcoholish. git is waaaaaaaaay better to my nose. i DO have a tube of cool water shower gel that i only use on special occasions though.

Quite an expensive way to get it, but you have a story now that you will never forget. It is quite cute and one that you can laugh at later when the sting of the loss has faded.

As for why he picked that one over some of the cheaper ones, it may be that he has seen you use that bottle most. Children, even at that young age are VERY, VERY observant. If that is the frag you use the most, and he has seen you use it, it is very possible he was already just trying to be like dad. Makes it even cuter if that's the case.
