It's like Mugler Cologne to me, with a bit of steroids.

LOL - I don't think they planned it to be that way.

Plenty of great androgynous feminines in their lineup - and the old masculines are still nice. Some nice ones in the Hermessence series, too. Gotta have something to come in at the bottom. The fact that their worst fragrances are only mediocre says something.

It really is a bit rubbish ... save up for some of the Hermessences they are much much better

I would say that's a fair description.

Quite apart from other opinions here I like Vogage d' Hermes. It is very neutral toned, but there is nothing about it I dislike at all and plenty to appreciate there.

I still think it smells like a blending of Cartier Declaration and Terre d' Hermes. I could imagine Ellena back in the lab saying "these two were pretty good so lets try them half and half togehter." lol. In blending these notes the result leaves out the cold flinty aspect of TdH which I can not stand and adds a bit of crispness of Declaration. I like this scent enough to want to keep my bottle on the shelf. I don't like Voyage as much as Declaration L' Essence even though it smells something like it but Voyage has the additon of notes of vetiver, woods, and vanilla.

I agree very much with buzzlepuff. while I'll admit, at 24 im youngish, and therefore, relatively new to intricacies of the fragrance market, there aren't a whole lot of fragrances out there that, as far as i know (which may prove my limited exposure to fragrances) smell like this one. It's light, fresh (which leads me to think it's aimed towards the younger crowd), and at least on my skin, anything but linear. Starting off with a citrus and some earthy... almost carroty notes, it evolves into a sweet, airy scent while still maintaining some masculinity.

Again, this fragrance is light/fresh enough so that it will either appeal to the younger crowd, or something very "unisex". it's really not a MANS man scent... if that makes sense. The longevity is a bit curious to me... it will seem to fade, and just as it seems its about to fade all together, it comes right back, though I would say if you want it to project for an extended period of time, you might have to a bit on the heavy side with the application. The only other issue I have with it is its price (hermés, go figure...) and its availability. Aside from the sample I got, I havent been able to find it anywhere save for the actual hermes website.

All that said, I would absolutely recommend it if you're looking for a light, summery fragrance. Ive gotten more than my fair share of compliments the few times ive worn it, especially within the college/grad school age range.

VdH = eau de cartier - cedar + pepper

We were not wowed. Faded fast, not much to it, quite generic.

Posted this in another thread before seeing this one:

Some "coincidences":

Voyage d'Hermes & Bulgari Eau de The Vert (+ Extreme)

Nose: Jean Claude Ellena

Common Notes: Tea, Cardamom, Pepper, White Woods (see various sites)

Rather than get the Terre d'Hermes similarity, i knew Vd'H reminded me of something else, till my wife wore my (now our ) Bulgari Eau de The Vert EDP. Bam! The similarity was amazing. The Mugler Cologne association is quite spot-on, and must be from the "white woods" which may be some form of vetiver aromachemicals and Iso-E Super playing in tandem (just a guess). The Terre d'Hermes association could just be the common citrus notes the two Hermes frags have, Td'H having higher concentrations.

IMO, V'dH's unique signifier is the pronounced tea note, which brings it into Bulgari territory.

Vd'H is my SotD. It looks like its going to be a good day

I actually like this one. Not very good longevity but I received a ton of compliments when I wore this.

It was indeed a good morning and afternoon , plus my Formula 1 team and driver won today's race in Hungary. Congratulations, Australians (Mark Webber) and Austrians (Red Bull Racing)!

I must admit i am a bit befuddled by the reviews of Vd'H i have read here so far. It must be a real YMMV frag. I put on 2 healthy shots to the chest and 2 to the neck and still smelt the beautiful musky, "white-woody" drydown 9 hours afterwards. and this was after a change of shirts 4 hours after application (this removing perceived longevity due to some of the juice seeping into fabric). The drydown is reminiscent of Mugler Cologne's and Bulgari's Eau The Vert's, but i preferred Vd'Hs. The musk is ever so slightly animalic.

As far as i am concerned, Vd'H is a winner in my books.

...about Ellena's past few scents...most notably Jardin Sur Le Nil, Pampelmousse Rose, and a little of Terre D'Hermes.

And while I'm not huge fans of any of those 3, they're all heads above voyage. And the bottle looks/feels much worse in person, the seams between aluminum/glass don't play well in light, and it feels light and cheap, unlike the sold feel of Hermes regular bottles.

I was really looking forward to this, and it was a dismal test. DISMAL.

Another exhibit in the case against Ellena's staying power. Eau De Campagne was so simple and great in 1974, Terre D'Hermes so interesting, and Cologne Biggarade quite good for a light as air scent, but Voyage is just dissonant and uninspired. Like a horrible attempt to rework Navegar's theme.

I am now 100% sure Jean Guichard did Concentre D'Orange verte, and Ellena did nothing. *throws tomato*

i have tried voyage in some shop, i dont like scent and very light it has gone after 1-2 hours.

I found it a bit lack-luster. Not enough kick in it for me.

I happened to be at the Hermès boutique today (to try Osmanthe Yunnan - tell me, what makes this a 5 star frag?) and the SA was eager to let me sniff this... further up is the word that fits best: GENERIC. Nothing terrible and if you are happy to smell like the crowd...
A pity I don't have more love for the Hermes and Hermessence fragrances since their customer service is quite outstanding... I got home with samples containing altogether 32 ml. I had only asked for Osmanthe Yunnan.

Jean Claude Ellena has mentioned adding Geraniol if he wants a perfume with bubbles, tight, compact bubbles that move.
And i think Voyage d'Herms interpret this idea quite well. Whenever i wear this fragrance, it does make me of champagne bubbles, sparkle champagne bubbles..quite lovely
