Morning all,

for the second day in a row I'm in Ysatis, which was my signature scent when I was in my early twenties.
I've never had as many compliments as I've had wearing this! Boys surrounded me like flies surround a pig.
I wonder if it will have the same effect these days of if it had to do the fact that I was both slimmer and somewhat prettier in those days?!
I think it's the tuberose that does it.

Good morning everyone Today it felt like the only scent to wear is Poison. Got a cold sneaking upon me...but this does the trick. Have a nice day all!

I´m wearing Idylle (Guerlain) today. I get mostly Lily of the Valley plus some roses and a hint of white musk out of this one, but I like it very much! I would never have guess it was a Guerlain, though, but the same goes for Insolence...oh, well.

Hello everyone!

I'm in the original Calvin Klein today, a gorgeous green and rosey floral chypre from 1978.

Y'all have a great day!

Cabotine by Gres on me with oil samples of Ambergris on one hand and Thai musk on the other. Green and animally at the same time. Fabulous!

I'm borrowing my mother's Courtesan (by Worth, which I gave her as a gift some time back.. ). I'm visiting her in San Francisco and it's perfect for this cool, foggy morning.

YSL NU for me this morning.

I couldn't connect to Basenotes last night, but I'm able to get on today. I sampled Possets Perfume's Sunshine in a Bottle-California last night, as I'm trying to decide which ones to choose for their sale. Today I'm in Alaska-Shimmering Crystals and Midnight Rainbows, which is probably my favorite from their line that I've tried. It's minty, floral, and beautiful! It does remind me of my days spent living in Grand Teton National Park (not Alaska, but very much a mountain environment).

I'll probably buy Alaska and Silver Carnations, but can't decide what I want for my free bottle. I'm considering Hyde Park, one of the Limoncellos, or Dark Sweet Crude-Texas (yellow rose, sage, leather, mesquite). Or maybe Take Tea and Sea-Rhode Island... I can't decide! Let me know if you've tried any of these last ones as I haven't sampled them. 3 bottles for $20...yes, please!
What a fine-smelling group, to be sure! You all are impeccable, as usual.
BlackDee, welcome to Basenotes! I recently tried Bal d'Afrique and it's wonderful.

Caron Pois de Senteur. A slightly spicy and powdery floral to start, mellowing into ambery beauty.

Best to all!

Have been away for a while but wanted to thank you for the beautiful birthday wishes. So appreciated!

My sotd is from my shining, new bottle of Evody Note de Luxe

Sometimes what I wear affects what I choose for the day. I have red accents today in my clothes, so I opted to wear Delices de Cartier.

Welcome BlackDee !

This morning I am in Enslaved by Roja Dove. Fab oriental though more chypre like to me.

A woman of my own heart! Layer away! (the combo sounds fun)

A big Oklahoma-style "Howdy!" to BlackDee...

Today I'm in Carven Vetiver *(have recently realized I'm a vetiver FIEND)* ... which fades too fast so it's gonna be layering time... hmm... Turbulences? Sycomore? (any of the 12 other decants in my bag today)...mmm.

(here's hoping no more Basenotes outages... I don't think I can take many more of 'em. I might have to do something in the REAL world!)

Philosykos form a sample, for my daily walk.

I am wearing AL's Frangipani, so perfect for the summer heat.

Mr. G You stop me in my tracks every morning with that photography!
Mountainear Did you say mint and floral? Am making a note of that.
Not dissimilarly I'm wearing Nanadebary Green for a day of last-minute errand-running before I FINALLY get out of town tomorrow afternoon. Anticipation has been fun for months, but about four days ago, it began to almost get annoying.

Welcome, BlackDee! And waving to any other new posters I may have missed. I haven’t been able to get onto Basenotes.

Petra Ichor…I also have a new sewing machine. I took a class recently called Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine, for absolute beginners. I was planning to spend some time with mine today, too. My crafting projects are expanding exponentially now in my imagination. Hopefully, I will use the machine enough to justify buying it.

I randomly selected Lanvin’s Rumeur (Francis Kurkdjian) this morning just before leaving the house, and it’s a good choice for me, as usual. I love this fragrance because I can wear it when I don’t want a fragrance that makes a statement, which is most of the time, as I’m not usually the type for the big guns, and Rumeur never lets me down. I find it very easy to wear. It’s a bit sweet/rosy/musky, and a bit aldehydic. It’s modern yet has some class and clarity. It doesn’t shout, it’s perfectly presentable, and yet I find it just a tiny bit eccentric. Tania Sanchez had a one word review for it in The Guide - “Baseless”, which is not off the mark – it isn’t what you’d call bottom heavy – but I think it deserves more appreciation than that.

It’s hot, but I get to try more fragrances because they don’t seem to last as long in this weather. There’s always a silver lining somewhere.

Scent of the Evening

POISON

Vintage Eau de Toilette

I simply cannot understand, how this fragrance
isn't everybody's absolute favourite?
It is so delicious, so sexy, and sooo likable.
I get amazed at how goddamn wonderful it is
every single time I put it on ... damn!

Yep! I haven't smelled anything like it (of course, I'm still a newbie). I can't stop smelling my wrists anytime I wear this one. The description from Possets:

"Cold, cold, very cold Alaska is the coldest of the US states. But, there is such beauty there: the aurora borealis, the mountains, the wildflowers, the sky, glaciers and a short but breathtakingly beautiful summer. I have tried to recreate Alaska in scent, at least one portrait of it. I managed to get the chill in the air, but the perfume of the riot of summer blossoms as they race the sun every year.USA. Dry, minty, floral, musky."

Welcome, BlackDee!

Oh, I am giving a last try to Tocca Guilietta. I wanted to like it so much, but it's just waaay too synthetic for me. A no go. But I promised to myself that as soon as I get a time at home to give this fragrance full attention whether it deserves it or not, I will do it! So, here I am. It was on my test list forever, and now it's off of it with a wave of my hand, I mean, click of my mouse!

Especially jealous now about the vintage EDT Poison, so glamorously worn by His Highness

BlackDee, welcome to Basenotes!

Couldn't get on yesterday! So I had to WORK instead, it was just AWFUL.

Yesterday morning workout scent was Fire from Heaven (i hate perfume) which is smoky with tea, and was very nice in the humidity!
Yesterday SOTD was L'Art di Gucci. Awesome rose.

Today I'm in Bois des Îles again. Some days it's sweeter, some days smokier, depending on my chemistry that day...

Welcome to Basenotes, BlackDee!

Scent of the morning is just a dab from my Pacifica Malibu Lemon Blossom solid. Can't decide what I want to wear tonight.

Oh, since I missed yesterday's SotD thread, I gave Caron's Parfum Sacre a full wearing yesterday. What a treat!

Not sure what is up, but I've not been happy with my scent choices this week...everything smells bleah...shall I blame the humidity or ??

Tomorrow I'm going for something foolproof! Maybe No. 19!!
