server issues

I'm going to spend some time tonight doing some work that should solve some of the server issues. As a result, I've added a limiter, which should kick in when the server gets too busy, which should stop it crashing so much, while I'm trying to work on it

Fingers crossed it shouldnt be too long

Thanks, Grant! The site's just been too busy for the server capacity, I guess. Anyway, whatever you can do to help should be great. I notice it caught what would have been a double post today. That's great progress right there!

Site has been virtually inaccessible the past week or so. Very sluggish when I am able to access pages; even then, it's never too long before the page fails to load and I receive an error.

Just for feedback purposes - the server continues to crash regularly for me. It is definitely more unreliable at certains times of the day, but anytime day or night I normally must restart my attempt to get onto Basenotes multiple times. I had to enter Basenotes through the Google link this morning just get on because going directly there had me locked out. No other sites I use have these problems and Basenotes has had these on and off for years now. I know it must be frustrating to Grant as well. Hope it gets well.

Thanks Grant.
A few minutes ago I had the "Database error" again.
Is it a server issue?
Reloading the page worked this time. (in the past I was usually stuck with this error message)
