Such a fun read Lady Grinning Soul!

I've finished Infidel by Ayann Hirsi Ali, and starting on a re-read of Confession by John Grisham. Not that I might normally re-read this type of book but was looking around the house and it was handy, it's a good one.

Sorry to hear that, dc: Hope you're OK.

Will start Maugham's Of Human Bondage later today.

Hey, thanks G! Only a 'coming together', so nothing serious, just hurt pride and wallet.

I love Pratchett, especially his Discworld series! He is a genius. My favorite is perhaps Witches Abroad.

I am reading Dragon Lady: The Life and Legend of the Last Empress of China by Seagrave.

Black Hole by Charles Burns

A Christmas gift, I voraciously read it almost in one sitting, I'll finish it tonight. Gosh, someone should make this into a movie. David Lynch would be a good choice. Strangely beautiful.

How far are you and how do you find it, fredrick? I read it around 2-3 years ago and I rather disliked it.

Hiya

I'm about 100 pages in. I was intrigued to read this before I saw the movie. The trailer for the movie looked pretty good. I'm enjoying the authors sense of humor and insights. The story so far is a bit weak but the writing is excellent.

Oh, there's a movie coming out? I wonder how true to the book it'll be, probably quite different considering how unusual the story is. I'd be surprised if it came out close, though!

Hmm. Thanks for the info. I enjoyed the start quite a lot, but the humor started to seem very immature and lost me as the book went on. I don't think the plot improved, either, but perhaps I'll give reading it another try.

Manumission by Matthew Lewis (*not* the guy who plays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies....)

(January 21, 2013) Updated to include link to Mr. Lewis' website from which one can download either .azw3, .mobi, or .epub. Also, I forgot to warn people that it's kinda got some.... risque?... scenes in it. But nothing like the tampon scene in 50 Shades of Grey.
