Bourne Legacy - Not very good with wooden acting and patchy uneven story, the worst from the series imo.

The Deer Hunter (1978)

Right at the beginning in the bride's room you can see a bottle of Rive Gauche (1971) standing in front of the mirror. Now could this be a goof? I mean: How probable is it to find a bottle of this in late 70's Steel Town Clairon, Pennsylvania, in the room of rather underprivileged people...? :-)

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN

An intimate biography of a sociopath. Tilda Swinton gives a gripping performance as a mother whose foreboding maternal instinct, from the day her child was born, isolates her from, and imprisons her in, a skeptical world in which her self-doubt festers, and the boys evolution into mass murderer is ignored and protected.

The grim tale is photographed with stylish calm and delicately spare poetry. The retro pop, and often cheery, sound track is disturbingly ironic.

A Single Man (2009)

Way too gay!
The presentation of homosexuality in a downright intrusive way. No, Tom Ford is no director. Tom Ford should stick with commercials; he presented his gay corporeal world like a glossy ad from Mercedes. Devoid of any human interaction or the slightest attempt of intellectuality, soulless, loaded with the superficial, synthetic, almost fascist presentation of mere atmosphere like only a fashion-fixated, brainless designer can do. I much prefer a deeply human, substantial and memorable rendition of a gay theme, like in the masterpiece Gods and Monsters (1998).

Not technically a movie, but it's well made anyway! I long to be like one of them someday, well, when I can afford a new wardrobe.

Edge of Darkness (2010)

Very entertaining. You just have to cheer everytime a villain gets killed. And it's good to see Mel Gibson at it again - some things he just does better than insulting Jews or "slapping bitches" (to paraphrase Sean Connery - look it up on youtube or elsewhere).

Arrrgh! I was watching Prometheus, the latest Ridley Scott film (prequel to Alien?) on a flight. Got about 95% through it when the pre-landing video came on.

Can someone tell me how it ends? The alien ship had crashed and Dr Shaw made it into the personnel carrier just as her suit was running out of oxygen. What happened after that? Please?
