It took us about 2 months to watch, but Ray and I finally watched the entire 6 seasons of The Sopranos. Wow, what a show! You can see how the natural evolution for those writers/producers was the just-as-great Mad Men.

Les Valseuses (1974)

127 Hours - excellent movie, miles better than I was expecting.

I watched Enchanted April on dvd last night. I don't know when it was released, but I'd always meant to see it. I'm glad I did, it was lovely.

I may drag my hubby to see The King's Speech tomorrow, if I can butter him up enough to go. He hates the whole public cinema experience - forced ad viewing, blasting volume, other annoyances, not to mention his ADHD. Hmm...maybe I'll just wait for the dvd.

Close my eyes (1991)

Black Swan. Didn't live up to all the hype it has received for me, but still a good watch. Dark and strange, but it keeps you guessing.

Finally watched Match Point (2005)
"Troll 2" for the guys night at my house. We all got a big laff out of it. It's the subject of the recent documentary "Best Worst Movie." Definitely a winner in the so-bad-it's-good category.

Perfect match (2007)

A girl cut in two (2007) by Claude Chabrol, while not one of Chabrol's best, still a good movie, even a scented candle by Diptyque is briefly shown during a scene

BNer Moltening recommended this...

L'Enfer (1994)

I'd seen a documentary on him a few years back, but this movie is brilliantly funny retell!

I've seen it too not so long ago and absolutely loved Sabina - what a character! Now I want to read the book.

The Snobbery of It All (1958?)

True Grit remake. Loved it!

Watching this as we speak...

Looks promising doesn't it?

The King's Speech- great ensemble cast

Also a 3 part-er mystery series called Zen, starring Rufus Sewell, based on books I haven't read. Set in Italy and all characters have British accents- but enjoyable plots. First one was the best.

Back to the Future Part 2 (i watched the part 1 last week, and will watch the part3 next week)

God, love this series, so classic.

Im very, very angry with the new part 4 that will arrive soon, will ruin the series.
When i saw the bad news, i instantly put it at dvd to watch!

This weekend I watched The King's Speech (brilliant performance by Colin Firth but in a boring story) and The Social Network.
The Social Network...unbelievably gripping for a movie about the development of a web site.

Will see The King's Speech and True Grit this weekend so I can be informed come Oscar time. Social Network will be hard to beat, though.

Highly entertaining and funny; on top of a rather solid cast..

On a dvd binge lately.

Now, this show is G O O D. Even, if I had to go by subtitles...

One of the best "gangster" movies I've seen to date..

With all the snow and ice we've had lately, we just had to visit the library and take out the DVD of The Day After Tomorrow-- I think this is the 4th time we've seen it.

The weather is bad, but it could always be worse!

In a few days we'll be following family tradition and watching Groundhog Day-- one of our all-time favorites!

Every once in a while a good mob/gangster production comes along, and I'm real glad I watched it. Well I can only understand English, but I prefer to watch shows in their original language, and French sounds really nice to me.

Anyways, I just saw this one in the afternoon (since we're having a public holiday). Cassel (he's in Black Swan too, yest?)is just such a good actor... and manages to reproduce the charm of Mesrine..

The Social Network

I've recently seen Black Swan. Natalie Portman is stunning and the absolute favorite for the Oscar of Best Actress. I was a bit underwhelmed at the end. The movie isn't really realistic... (what's real and what not). The cinematography was excellent though.

Yesterday evening I watched True Grit, it's a truely fantastic movie if you like the Coen brothers (one of my favorite movies is No Country for Old Men). The story is a tale for adults. I'd like to see Jeff Bridges win the Oscar but I still have to watch 127 hours which I'll do tonight or tomorrow night.

Finally saw The King's Speech. Brilliant.
Rented Despicable Me the other night, for lack of anything else tempting at Redbox. It was cute and funny, but forgettable.
^ I agree... I saw it at the cinema when it was showing. Very forgettable and failed to humor me for the most part of it. Kind of draggy after the opening half...

Just saw Handsome Harry

* spoiler* About a group of navy boys bashing up their self-accepting gay friend/navy mate (because they knew but couldn't accept they were all themselves a little gay too), and how their lives changed ever since. Now old and dying, Harry revisits the boys to seek closure. Pretty alright show...

Merci Pour le Chocolat (2000)
Just caught this one, you guys should be able to get it on dvd. Typical martial arts film. Typical but Good. Jacky Chan got his usual clown-ish minor role.. This one's got ALOT of great fighting scenes; if you're into action, catch the show.

*wondering how long my movie/dvd binge is going to hold up*

Shaolin

Salt

Fun, lot's of action, but the story line was incredibly hard-to-believe and over-the-top.

After that we watched:

Remember Me

OMG how sad is that ending? I'm still a little weepy, just thinking about it.
