Loking for ideas for scents that are close to but not identical to R.L. Polo[ green bottle] ,as this type of scent works best for me.Something in the cooler type of weather for casal day time ,with pretty good lasting power and for someone in age bracket mid 40's. Thanks, R.J.

According to fragrantica.com, Polo is a woody chypre. Polo Green is sorta an old school type scent, so I don't really have a lot of frags in this category. However, one did jump out at me; Terre di Hermes. If you haven't tried it, it's sorta an earthy orange scent. Very good choice for gentlemen in their 40s.

Maybe Quorum, but I prefer Polo over Quorum any day.

To me, Tom Ford Italian Cypress is like a cleaned up, high end, modernized Polo green. Like most of the Tom Ford's, it's potent with good longevity.

I def recommend you at least get a sample if you really like Polo. I got a couple of samples of it and broke out in a big smile when my mind snapped that it smelled like an old friend. It's not an exact match, but there's a nice similarity. I haven't gone full bottle yet, but probably will. I was very impressed with it as a kind of 2008 take on Polo.

The Terre D'Hermes suggestion is also a good one. I wouldn't say it's similar, but has the same kind of vibe. It's nice.
