Having trouble choosing my first 2 Chanel frags

Hi there,

Was at the shop yesterday checking out some Chanel fragrances, tested Chanel Allure Homme, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche, Platinum Egoiste. Couldn't make up my mind because they all smell so freaking good!

If I were to pick just 2 from the entire Chanel range (Doesn't have to be from the list above that I have mentioned), what are your recommendations?

I do not have a preference for season. Do let me know what occasion your recommendations are more suited for. I'm in University now.

If you have any other fragrances that you think can best Chanel, let me know too

Thanks guys

Chanel Sycomore- one of my all time favorites and suitable for any occasion (IMO). Egoiste (non-Platinum) is my second favorite. From those that you tried yesterday, I only like Edition Blanche.

There are only 4 Chanel men's fragrances worth owning IMO - Chanel pour Monsieur, Antaeus, Egoiste and Egoiste Concentree. If I had to pick 2 it would be Antaeus and Egoiste Concentree. Do not buy anything with "Allure" in the title.

I'm a broken record on this one. Édition Blanche and no.5 Eau Première. Possibly the Allure Homme Sport Cologne instead of Blanche.

Allure and Platinum Egoiste are my two all-time biggest compliment gainers. I'll never be without either of them. They're a few that I haven't tired of after years of use. Jacques Polge is a genius perfumer.

Allure is a more casual, versatile fragrance. More suitable for someone youthful. Platinum Egoiste is a bit more formal and stronger. It's more suited for wearing out at night though it seems to work for me anytime, any place.

The only other Chanels I've tried are Antaeus and Egoiste and I didn't care for either.

Antaeus and Egoiste (original, whichever concentration you can get).

If you have two slots, you could fill one with Antaeus. It's an excellent fragrance.

I'd pick among the following for the next slot (my preferences in order):

1. Allure Homme Edition Blance
2. Egoiste
3. Allure Homme Sport

Pour Monsieur of course although I seldom wear it , its a classic

Coromandel , future classic can be worn by men or women , love it

Just like Zerby, I would recommend Antaeus and pour Monsieur

Allure Homme is very nice one to start

Allure Homme Edition Blanc and (VINTAGE) Antaeus.

Allures (probably Homme Sport best) + Platinum Egoiste if you are in university.
Anything else if you are 30+.

It would be hard for me to say which two are best for you, but Edition Blanche is my favorite. It is beautiful stuff.

If you can only have 2 Chanel fragrances, I would say No. 19 and Sycomore.

No. 19 is possibly the best green fragrance out there and is really versatile, while Sycomore is a very well mannered vetiver scent. Antaeus and Pour Monsieur feels more suitable for the more mature gentlemen I would say. 19 and Sycomore are both relatively light, but yet still smells really classy, which is the hallmark of Chanel fragrances.

Cuir de Russie (any concentration)
No 19 EdT (or vintage parfum...)
