Game: Guess the Fragrance by the Picture!~ PART 2

Game started by BrothaG

Go here for Part one.

::Copy of the first post of Part one with the rules::

Get ready for a brand new game!

It's based upon the following idea: someone will post a picture that is in some way related to (the name of) a fragrance. Every member will then be able to guess that particular name. For instance, a picture of the Nile river and a garden near it could translate into Un Jardin sur le Nil.

The rules are quite simple:
** Post a picture that refers to a fragrance. It doesn't necessarily have to be an existing image, you can also come up with a combination of images or create/shoot something yourself. Be creative.
** If your picture appears to be too hard to solve, you can give a few hints later on. For instance, mention that the fragrance's name is French.
** Please respect the web traffic and copyright of other people. It's recommended to upload your image to a free hosting service such as TinyPic , ImageShack , or Xs.to so that the original uploader won't suffer from hotlinking. Also, make sure the filename ('nameoftheimage.jpg') does not reveal the answer.
** Once one is solved, feel free to post a new challenge. If you've posted an image, please check back to the thread often to see if people have guessed the scent's name.
** If the poster of a puzzle does not return to the thread in a fair amount of time, other members are free to come up with a new one. The previous poster can still confirm later whether or not people were right in their guessing.
** For those creating puzzles: when confirming the right answer please include the house to allow easier archiving of the thread.
** Please note: everyone is greatly encouraged to guess along. However, this has to be an equally fun game for all members and therefore, everyone guessing is kindly asked to contribute to the thread by creating a challenge yourself every now and then. Don't let the guessers keep guessing and the creators creating, but be creative instead.
** Motivate your guessing, i.e. mention why you think it's this or that fragrance.
** Please only use fragrances that are listed in the Basenotes Fragrance Directory (over 10.000 listed). This way, people who are not familiar with a certain scent can still play along.
** For all other cases, please refer to the Basenotes Forum Rules.

The list of fragrances used in the past became too long and was not really useful any longer. So, it is deleted. For those who are curious, part of it is still visible on Part One.

Have fun!!

I don't know if this is the answer, but I just discovered Versace Crystal Noir in the directory, and it sounds fabulous! Otherwise, it's a stumper for me.

BINGO!Is this bottle a masterpiece or what?

This is another one of my favorites by Versace (after Blonde of course)!!!!
Cool! Yeah, that bottle is a drooler. You just sold me on a new frag. The reviews look really good. I'm a sucker for dark fragrances.

This might be an easy one...

I'll get indigo and chapeau out of the way
post #9 of 1143
It just might be a Chanel. Coco started out with hats, after all - and there is the small matter of your signature line, Mr Redneck.
How about Coco?

Getting VERY close. Let's just say that the hats themselves may be pointing to the wrong side of the aisle. AND - I just realized this. It may not be in the directory yet. Whoops!
RP, I think I can stop the embarrassment in its tracks. This has got to be Stephen Jones, by Comme de Garcons, yes? A milliner, a violet perfume???

Whether I'm correct or not, if you still want to try it, PM me your address. I got my bottle!

Edit: I see that Stephen Jones IS in the directory, so I'm probably off target.
Chapeau Bleu by Marina Picasso??? (Blue Hat en Francais...)
Sorry for the misleads. It is indeed a Chanel, like the hats. But not a feminine....

It has been the object of some intense scrutiny of late as well...
le bleu de chanel perhaps?

Saripatates, congrats on the solve! I don't have a clue what your new one could be, but what a strange photo! Here's a possibility:

???
Here's another guess:

Ultraviolet Man Liquid Metal
by Paco Rabanne (2004)

???

none are correct I'm afraid.

I wish I could go for a swim as well.
Those "wings" could represent fig leaves - something like that, So I'll guess "What About Adam"...
good guess, but no.

hint:
the picture is from a movie
Is the pic from Dune?

Secret Mélange by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier?
So it's Dune then. That's a good David Lynch movie, but I don't remember that puny boy...
kbe, good call, but that's thinking a bit too much.
I'll accept darkdreams' post as
Christian Dior - Dune pour homme

madame du barry, when you answered gold wings by "police" I assumed you knew he was in fact Sting.

I remember reading the book, but I don't remember if I was able to tolerate the movie all the way through. If I had, I'd surely have remembered that outfit!

WOW! I find it impressive that this game has gone on so long it requires a new thread in order to keep the server from lagging! Probably the only other one that rivals it is the "Take Your Pick" thread, but at least that one doesn't have pictures to load, as well.

How do we know he's puny? Er, I guess the wings are kinda small. OK - strike that!

There were people who criticized the casting on that one, but I thought it was brilliant.

Good problem!
Good one saripatates. I saw a tree rather than a forest.
Congratulations Saripatates(you have a delicious name -by the way-you should share this recipe with us ) for a wonderful puzzle and Darkdreams for finding DUNE!
I must say that i am so intrigued by this puzzle that i am going to read this novel
post #42 of 1143
aahh..so it was Dune! Thanks. I just recognized the movie but I thought it would be something more complicated. Secret Mélange was a great guess. So was Wings by Police!

Yeah, I'm new on this thread, so I didn't realize that you guys and gals are not only OK with "extra" layers of complexity on these - it's kind of the norm. I'll bear that in mind next time I post a pic.
my pleasure

sophi my name is actually two words, sarı and patates. which means, yellow potato. It is delicious though, but covering all the recipes would be... hard.

redneck I think you are being too humble, IMO you have a really keen mind and your puzzles are great both in here and the poetic thread.

honestly, it's impossible to turn one into the other without a long time painting.
it's actually another shot, and while I did photoshop it a bit this is the original:

That is Sting? Wow! No way I could have figured this one out, even with the "it's from a movie" clue. Nice puzzle and solution, with fun guesses along the way! Love this thread...
Not a thing wrong with your pic saripatates. The studio oiled/shadowed Sting (photoshopping in a way) to sharpen his muscular appearance
