Good morning ladies, time for yet a synchronized day.
This time we're doing the fab House of Estée Lauder!

I'm in one of my alltime favourites,
the glorious sillage monster that is;

SPELLBOUND

Eau de Parfum

(Modern Version)

OK, it's still Thursday on my side of the pond, but I will join you 'tomorrow' with EL Private Collection (1973).
post #3 of 82
Morning!! I'm wearing Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia for Estee Lauder day.
post #4 of 82
JHL is as close as I can get from my wardrobe, so I'll wear it tomorrow (still Thursday here in California...)

Etro Shaal Nur. There will be vintage Youth Dew tonight, but I couldn't inflict that on my colleagues on a summer day.
post #8 of 82
Wow, how bizzaro!
I just got back home and found this.
It's 4pm Friday here in AU and I've been wearing vintage Youth Dew all day.
It's winter here. xD

Good morning!

My sotd is

Private Collection - Estee Lauder

post #10 of 82
For Estée Lauder Day I am wearing my sadly neglected Tuscany per Donna by Aramis.

It belongs to Estée Lauder's stable, is on their site so I think I can wear this without upsetting our dear Royal Highness

Top Notes: Rose, Muguet, Citrus, Mediterranean Herbs
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Carnation, Honeysuckle, Peony
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Amber, Vanilla

Have a lovely Friday!
post #11 of 82
Just popping in to say that I'll be going scentless and around even less in the coming weeks:

Our little pod arrived at 1:13 am on 7/27, weighing 6 lbs 12 oz, and 20.25 inches.

He completely amazes me every minute!

post #15 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood!
I am so happy for you!

post #16 of 82
Congratulations Heartwood!

What a lovely bundle of joy you two have.

BTW, I'm in Musc Nomade but will change to Pure White Linen tonight.
post #17 of 82
CONGRATULATIONS Heartwood and partner on your new son. He's just gorgeous.

I don't really wear Estee Lauder scents (except maybe YDAN) so I'm bucking the trend
with Eau Dynamisante by Clarins.
post #18 of 82
Heartwood, fantastic news that your boy arrived safely and what a glorious picture. Massive congratulations to all 3 of you, but especially you, since let's be honest, you did the hard work! I hope you're being spoiled by everyone and made lots of cups of tea and given cake (you need to keep your strength up, you know).

I am in Sikkim by Lancome today as it's been a while since I popped in and I didn't know about synchro Friday. But hey, I'll join in later! Either I'll swing by a counter while I'm in town and try out VMIHateCivet's recommendation of Intuition or I'll yank out my YouthDewAmberNude. Luckily it's not too hot here at the moment, so I can wear it without feeling like I'm Scheherezade.

Have a good day, all, though I suspect Heartwood is the one who's having the best day.
Mwa!

post #19 of 82
Congratulations to the Heartwoods and best wishes to the Heartwood Jr.

I am with Miss R in Tuscany per Donna (was a toss between this and Knowing), sunny fruit won!

Raining buckets here.
post #20 of 82
Heartwood, CONGRATULATIONS to you all on your new little one, he's just precious! Your beautiful, sweet picture has me typing this with tears in my eyes. Oh, you're in for such a wild, wonderful ride!! Boys are lovely and such great fun. xxxooo

Joining the Lauder lads 'n lassies with the yummy Sensuous today.

Happy Friday, all!
post #21 of 82
Awwwwwww, Heartwood!!!! Huge congrats to you and your little family! Everything with the world is "right" when a baby is born!
I want so badly to dig into the By Kilian voyage set...so one of them will be my SOTD! As not to buck the Estee Lauder Syncronization I will wear some Sensuous to bed tonight! Happy day everyone!
post #22 of 82
Good morning everyone (it's technically morning since I'm having ( a late) brekfast at the moment) First of all CONGRATULATIONS TO The HEARTWOODS!! My sotd is sadly not an Estee Lauder today since I no longer have one in my wardrobe...Instead I'm very much enjoying Dzing!
post #23 of 82
Congratulations to the Heartwood family! Baby Heartwood missed my "baby's" birthday by just hours, he turned 30 on Monday!

I am joining in on EL day by wearing Youth Dew Amber Nude.

Happy Friday everyone!
post #24 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood! That's a gorgeous photograph, you're all adorable.

I'm in Kenzo Power today because I forgot it was Friday (I'm all mixed up this week). I have plenty of EL miniatures to choose from tonight, though. I love Youth Dew, but I'm actually tempted to give Knowing another shot, although I found it very difficult the last time I wore it. Hmm, this requires consideration.
post #25 of 82
Congratulations on your bundle of joy, Heartwood! Your family looks radiant!
I am also a rebel today in Attrape Couer. I am loving it so much I just can't let go, not even for Estee'.
THough I may hunt through samples tonight for some Youth Dew...

Just ordered some Neil Morris samples. I Think that will be just the thing to jumpstart my nose after a long period of monogamy to Chanel no. 19
post #26 of 82
Habit Rouge Beau Cavalier by Guerlain.
post #27 of 82
Heartwood, congratulations to you and hubby on your baby boy! He is gorgeous! Very, very best wishes to you all!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wanted to wear a classic Lauder today. Pleasures and Pure White Linen are staples for me, but all I had of the oldies was the grandmama of them all...
There is Ms. Lauder in early days, doing what she did...making an ordinary American woman feel and look special.
Hmm, at first he did get somewhat upset, that a teamplayer like yourself,
choose to go your own way.
But since The Lauder Comp. owns the frag, he guess it's all good ...
Jasmine White Moss from a sample for today - not really my type of fragrance, but it is easier than risking the wrath of His Highness
Who, by the way, deserves a lot of thanks and credit for keeping this organized and fun.
I'll switch to Knowing for the evening. It's time to pull that one out, it's been awhile.
post #30 of 82
Good Morning All. I'm not really a fan of E/L but I have a sample of 'Bronze Goddess' on this glorious Friday. Have a great week-end everybody!!!
post #31 of 82
Youth Dew was a scrubber. I've just spent some time with a jar of Pond's cold cream and some soap & water. I love to smell Youth Dew on others, but I think I have to finally accept that it's not my thing. It wears me, and that becomes irritating. I'm now refreshed in Beyond Paradise, which is much more my style.
post #32 of 82
Here's a diaper cake for Little Mr. Heartwood. Oh, darling boy, such a happy life you will have. I can recommend your mommy highly!
This is a good week for mommies and daddies. Shades, your offspring turned 30, mine turned 31 yesterday, and her boyfriend turned 30 yesterday, too.
No frags yet. No Lauders in house. After shower I'll stare at my Boston collection and try to make a decision. Just could not wait to join in the Heartwood celebration. Kisses to the misses, mister, and the little squirt!
Congratulatons Heartwood- I am very happy for you and hubby . You're going to be a wonderful mother ! Many many hugs and well wishes- thinking of you !
Scent of the morning - Estee Lauder's Tuberose Gardenia
post #34 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood!!
I have no Estee Lauders, except, maybe, Havana.... but.... er.... not today.
Scent of the Day: Lubin Bluff.
post #35 of 82
Oh, CONGRATULATIONS! Heartwood and family! How wonderful. You and Daddy look so happy and your son looks so sweet. Holding a swaddled newborn is a supremely rewarding experience. Especially after the hard work of labor.
No scent for me yest but I'll enjoy one of the few EL scent's I can wear well: Pure White Linen Pink Coral. It doesn't get much lovin' here but it's a lovely scent, really.
post #36 of 82
Hello everyone!
I had a bunch to choose from this morning as I have my mother's collection at my disposal - she's an Estee Lauder fan from way back. I chose the crisp and impeccable White Linen, an edp spray from about the same year of this ad, I'd say '83 or so. This is a lot more intense than I remember it, but it's very green, sleek and elegant. Actually, I'm not sure it's really "me"... maybe it's just too much "my mother", but it sure is nice. White Linen was created by Sophia Grojsman in 1978.
Congratulations Heartwood, and congratulations to your lucky little baby boykin!
I'm just thrilled for you and your family!
Y'all have a wonderful day!
post #37 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood!!
I´m also wearing White Linen today. Guess everyone here can recall how it smells, no?
Have a fab Friday, all!
Edit to say, that unlike Evangeline, I don´t find it very green, just CLEAN (and lovely).
post #38 of 82
I think you're right musse, maybe it's not really so green as it is bright, and aldehydic and soapy and very clean.
eta - Although....I am still getting a certain green-ness, maybe in the base. Vetiver and oakmoss might be the culprits, or even the hyacinth which has a bright green edge. At any rate, that's not what White Linen is about - I think it's more about the aldehydes and clean florals.
Feeling refreshed by a shower and Atelier Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue
I consistently like bitter orange, which is the star of this scent as far as I'm concerned, but it's made grander by the supporting notes. Easy to wear in the heat, obviously.
• Top notes: blood orange, bitter orange
• Heart notes: jasmine, geranium from South Africa
• Base notes: amber woods, tonka beans, sandalwood
- - - - -
Progressing through the samples from Boston, I should reserve judgment until I get to the end, but Aventus by Creed seems like it's the best new-sniff. All of the Ateliers are very pleasant, and it was hard to choose which to try first.
EL-Private Collection
post #41 of 82
CONGRATULATIONS Heartwood! <3 How lovely Great photo too!
I'm in Pleasures Delight by EL. This scent always surprises me because I shouldn't like it (I'm not into candy scents), but I do. I think the patchouli in it works for me or something. Who knows!
post #42 of 82
Congratulations,
Heartwood!
post #43 of 82
I missed that it was EL, for some reason I though it was something else. Wearing Musc Ravageur.
Congrats on the new baby, Heartwood!
post #44 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood and Mr. Heartwood!! Your baby boy is so sweet!
Today I'm in EL Azuree. I love this and need (want ) a bottle. It definitely has some potency - I hope I'm not killing my co-workers!
post #45 of 82
I'm so happy to see White Linen getting some love. It always gets me compliments. It smells so much like its name. It has that quirky/brisk sharpness I really love. Now if only someone would try some Azuree for a glorious green lift! My post came in at the same time as the one above! excellent!
post #46 of 82
Congratulations Heartwood!
AM: Comme Des Garçons Series 1 Eau de Toilette Leaves: Lily
PM: Youth Dew to make it up for the Synchronized Estée Lauder Day.
post #47 of 82
Congratulations Heartwoods! The baby is completely ADOREABLE! Hugs to you all!
For SyncFri I'm wearing two discontinued ones Celadon(right elbow) soapy green with hints of Azuree but getting sweeter/sunnier as I type
and White Linen Breeze(left elbow)similar to Escape or L'eau d'Issey with a bit of Aromatics Elixir .Sort of an odd combo I can see why they discontinued this . It probably wasn't falling properly into the aquatic or the spicy floral camps.It's interesting.
post #48 of 82
M/M Heartwood, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is such a sweet picture....so precious!!
I thought that I would not be able to participate in the EL synchronization today because I didnt think I owned a single thing by Estee Lauder. Then, I remembered a decant that I swapped for a while ago. So today, I am wearing Private Collection Amber and Ylang Ylang.
post #49 of 82
Hello again all, after not posting for awhile and welcome to the adorable Baby Heartwood!
I arrived home late last night after the amazing Boston trip! Will post more about the heavenly meet-up when I overcome jet lag.
For synchronized Friday I'm starting the day in EL Dazzling Gold
post #50 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood and the family!
For an Estee Lauder synchronized Friday I had so many choices between my FBs and samples that I could probably share with many here! My finalists were White Linen (because I wear it rarely) and Pleasures Delight because I haven't tried them at all and just got a decant from my friend. So, I went with Pleasures Delight and became a scent twin with Nukapai!
So far no one is wearing Beautiful, I might try that in the evening
post #51 of 82
No SOTD chosen yet, but I also wanted to offer my CONGRATULATIONS to Heartwood and her family. What a beautiful little boy!
This photo deserves to appear again and again on the thread! CONGRATULATIONS!!! He is just adorable!
I am wearing my newest fragrance, L'Ombre Dans L'Eau. The SA gave me a few samples of the matching body lotion and it is also very nice (strongly perfumed.)
post #53 of 82
Heartwood lovey, huge congrats on the bundle of loving joy that is your son. May his every hope and dream come true.
Now that I am in gushy baby mode, I will share my own gushy moment (not as wonderful as baby though)
I am posting from the new house, yes we finally are all set to move in tomorrow morning, so I have internet...huzzah!!!
Since I am running around like crazy, I had no time to think of SynchFriday, so I grabbed my wonderful decant, thank you ComDiva darling and am wearing En Passant by Olivia Giacobetti for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. This is just heavenly for working on the final touches of my home. Well at least the ones that make home habitable.
Tonight I will spritz on some Alliage which is such a go-to summer scent for me.
Big smacking kisses and hugs for all.
Well, I have no other Lauder frag's than the Spellbound I've already been in.
And from their sub-brands, I only have Clinique Happy, which I'm not in the
mood for as of now ... I'm sorry, Imma traitor, I know!
Woohoo! A New Heartwood! Congrats!!!
And glad your home's ready to move into, Brielle!
Today I'm in as promised JHL as it's the Estee Lauder creation for her husband... since I don't have any "real" EL scents. (gasp!)
And it's making me nostalgic for the 80s... (heh, as if!)... it's not entirely appropriate for the summer weather, being a strong oriental with tons of OOMPH (particularly since I, um, kind of overapplied it!) ... but hey, I'm stuck behind the desk in air conditioned office today and sans-officemate so who cares? It's funny that folks call it the "girliest" masculine scent, because I (of all people) find it more masculine than feminine or unisex.
But perhaps that's a memory from the 80's creeping in. Whatever, I am amused. It brought out a scent story, one of the coworkers has only ever owned three scents in his life: Polo, Drakkar Noir, and CK 1... he said that he wore each of these exclusively in that phase of his life and while he was in his Polo phase he spilled the Polo on his LPs... he still has a few of these (vinyl, yeah, how nostalgic is that?) and whenever he pulls out "Thriller" the smell of Polo transports him instantly.
Nice! :-)
Aloha everyone! Congratulations Heartwood!
My SOTD is Kai.
My SOTE will be Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Bahiana.
post #59 of 82
Congratulations, Heartwood and family!
I'm in EL Bali Dream, which is easily my most used frag since my sister loves it as well. It does make me sad for the loss of The Cosmetic Company which was ruined in our great flood. I hope it will return in November.
Top: magnolia, ginger, orchid leaves, moon orchid
Middle: lily-of-the-valley, pepper, ylang ylang, cassia, jasmine, gardenia, tagete, plum, tuberose
Bottom: cedar, vanilla, coconut, Haitian vetiver, temple wood
I may put on Sensuous or Bronze Goddess depending on how the mood strikes this evening, though the lasting power on Bali Dream is fantastic!
