I just got a lovely postcard from Bergdorf Goodman announcing this ( word for word ) ....

LEMMING!!!!!! ")

" An exclusive collection of Guerlain's mythical fragrances will be offered in iconic golden bee bottles only at Bergdrof Goodman from August 9-21. Quantities are limited. ( Aren't they always ??? ! )

So.... just thinking. I"m assuming these are expensive becasue of the hand painted gold. so where are people going to put these? on the mantel? coffee table? this looks dumb to me.

The coffee table? Hell - I'd sleep with it.

It is dumb - I agree. But it's fun to pretend we're that stupid!

Actually, everybody who knows me thought it was pretty stupid to buy a bee bottle of Derby - sans gold. I would only consider buying one of these puppies if it was Quand Vient la Pluie. Thierry Wasser's work of genius! Oh, yeah! I would put it out on the table, and let people sniff it whenever they wanted to. I might even leave a pipette and small vials in a bowl. Let people partake of the greatness.

But the dog would probably chew it up, come to think of it. Maybe I'll just get another Guerlain Homme bath product....

I would be interested to find out which fragrances are being offered- if it's Idylle- forget about it ! ( Though I seriously doubt they would put Idylle in a bee bottle...... ) No mention of price either so I assume it's a fortune.

I personally am not much of a 'bottle' person, but those bottles look really fabulous.

I have Marie Line Patry's email address, from Guerlain (Ray and I met her when we were at NY Bergdorf last summer). Maybe I will email her and ask her if she knows what fragrances will be sold this way. She was so sweet to me when I met her - she spent about 45 minutes of her time talking to Ray and I about Guerlain, Paris, her favorite from the line, etc...she gave me a big ol' hug when we had to leave. Classy lady.

What a shame that I don`t live in USA and cannot put my hands in one of those precious
But it`s not clear if it`ll be new re-releases or if they are just launching limited bottles of the Les Parisiennes line.

There is a special crystal bee bottle and I think only 6 made, and at $17,000 each. Very exclusive.

I feel disappointed, but at the same time relieved. I expected that they would relaunch legendary scents from their catalog, like Djedi or Atuana. Since I`m not a bottle collector, I'll keep my money for better purposes
