I find this intresting interview with Christopher Chong at Sniffapalooza magazine.

Nice find, Oslo-Fjord! Interesting to read that he conceived of a feminine component and a masculine one that were fused to create Epic woman. I wish the interviewer had gone into more specifics with him about how he is inspired by music...

Thanks for sharing this, O-F. I have to say that Mr. Chong didn't reveal much in the interview, but any information on Amouage is certainly better than none.

Yes, thanks. They clearly picked a true creative for the job! I think it's fascinating that the idea of journey is in the soul of Epic, because that is what I get - a heroic journey. Raising something above the commercial and the mediocre takes work and passion and love for ideas, and it's clear that Chong has these. I'm grateful that BN leads the way in respecting the too-often overlooked perfumers, but I'm even happier to see one of the too-often disrespected creatives getting a little love. These guys and gals are the navigators that point the perfumers in the right (or wrong) direction, and it takes a good one to point them in the direction of both art and profit.
