Hand Book of Perfumes With Formulations

I recently ordered Hand Book of Perfumes With Formulations from PrintsAsia in NYC. It's a fascinating and inexpensive read for anyone who loves perfumes and is curious about the materials, and potentially useful for DIYers (but the book was written for those in the perfume industry.)

The link has a detailed list of the book's contents. (Note however that that all the sources in chapters 19, 20 and 21 are located in India.)

Ciao 30 Roses
you can download the perfumer's manual by Dussauce 1868 at http://www.profumo.it/internet-docum...ndex_books.htm
You will also find tips at http://www.profumo.it/Blog/index.php

Wowee! This looks like a treasure trove. Thanks for the recommendation, 30 Roses.

The Dussauce book isn't downloading correctly for some reason, sadly.

Profumo, I didn't see your post until just now. Thank you for your intention-- but I'm afraid I can't download the Dussauce either...or rather, it downloads but I don't seem to have any application to open it.

Tatterdemalion, welcome to Basenotes!

I don't want to bother anyone with info they might allready have, but just in case this is useful:
You can choose between a rar or zip file when downloading the book. These are archive file formats, and you need a matching program to ''unfold'' them.
Rar is the better file, but no computer comes with software to unfold it, you need to download.
Bitzipper 2010 is supposed to be a good one, unfolds both rar and zip files.
There are multiple free shareware programs available online.

There's also ''The Art of Perfumery'' on Gutenberg:

Hi 30 Roses. I also ordered this book and was wondering how long did it take for it to arrive?
Thanks.

A couple of weeks-- media mail-- from New York to CT! If you paid for Priority Mail it'll arrive faster.

This is where I get all my period gentlemens cologne recipe ideas from. I love this book. In fact I only love old things in everything I do and own.

I didn't get any email response-- but the book arrived in due course. Shipping is a bit slow.
