Both are great. IMO XXV is a more soft and fruity version of Epic. Which one do you prefer, and why?

It`s quite hard to choose, since I love both and I still intend to buy me a bottle of Epic. I choose Jubilation XXV since I like the boozy fruitiness of Jubilation XXV paired with the incense and oud notes of it. Though, I find that Jubilation XXV is a fruity version of Dzonghka, not Epic, which is all about leather notes and agarwood on me

Epic----because its much bolder.

I'm still on the fence as to which will be my first Amouage. Of the two, I think I prefer Epic. But, at this point, I love Reflection the most.....I think.

I can't stand the smell of Epic, so my vote goes to Jubilation XXV

I'm as confused as you are. If you like Jubilation then go for it, personally I don't like it very much, but the reason why I'm not sure if I should get it or get epic is because Jubilation is a much more loved fragrance than Epic it seems.

I voted for Amourage Jubilation XXV.

Difficult choice since they are so different i think it's not fair to put them together and axe one compared to the other.

If i had to choose i'd take JXVV because it's the ultimate winter comfort scent, a masterpiece meant to be enjoyed with a glass of port on one hand and a cuban cigar on the other on a chilly night.

Jubilation XXV

Reflection!!!

I've received comments that Epic smells very mature, while XXV smells homely and relaxed. My vote still goes to Epic. Love the crisp pepper berries in the top and sparkling frankincese throughout. Some of my muslim friends say it reminds them of the smell of attars. XXV gets pretty oppressive for me over time :/

Epic smells like an older brother of XXV. I love both. I find Epic more complex. You should take both

What occasions do you think XXV is best suited for? Enyone use this as a formal eveningscent? Or more casual?
I find that I only really crave to wear XXV during autumn, at formal or semi-formal occasions.

Having spent a life time with generic Arabic concoctions, Jubilations to me is a strikingly generic*khaleeji* fragrance, and hence sub-par. Epic is way better.

*Khaleeji* means Gulf-culture related vs. Arabic, which is a much bigger concept.

I own both, and they are on my top-5 list. Which of them do you think is the most formal of them. F.ex. suit and tie/tuxedo. An evening at the opera. Maby most people will enjoy Jub XXV because it`s smooth and fruity. I think maby some people will find Epic quite brutal and anoying.. I love both, and would have big problems to pick only one!

This thread scared me away from trying Epic, so I wanted to offer my thoughts for future readers of this thread.

Jubilation XXV – Great fragrance that smells like temple incense. Jubilation XXV is not a sweeter version of Epic.

Epic – Epic is less incense and more complex, spicy leather with the house’s signature frankincense + oud. This is definitely a classy, mature scent, but one a middle aged man can wear to work with judicious application (1-2 sprays).

Both are nicely done by the house and will spoil your nose.

I have the sample set which does not include Epic. Jubilation XXV is in the set and I really like it alot. Dia is good and I think Gold is outstanding, but must be worn selectively. Silver was not my cup of tea. I have not tried Reflection yet. HAving tried many of the Amouge scents I got Epic blind, based upon the comments here and the fact that is is a classier version of Azzaro Pour Homme and Aramis. It is very much along those lines. I think that is called a spicy Fougere, anyway I like that type of scent and it is very much a mans scent and it is bold. I will enjoy this for a long time. 100 ml and only need one spray at a time.

Silver was my first Amouage. It was a safe choice seeing you need to take time to get used to appreciate Amouage. It is like a very fine caviar. Next was XXV and I think if I chose XXV first I would be very turned off. XXV is brilliant and is still one of my favorites in the line, but I am glad I started out with Silver.

I recently ran out of XXV. I own most of the line but something told me to try Epic due to some peoples opinion on similarities. While Epic does have hints that are cohesive to XXV, I still think XXV is my staple scent.

If I were forced to pick - Jubilation XXV , but I personally would never buy it.

I'll have to agree with that assessment. I find the Jub to be nice and inviting, while I find Epic to be the sort of stuff that's not particularly welcoming.

I suspect it's just my nose, but I simply can't locate the similarity between these two that others can. From an emotional standpoint, they seem worlds apart.

Epic Woman is way better than the mans one , deffo unisex , try it
post #26 of 29
Have a sample of Epic woman, yes it's damn fine stuff.

Epic is mature and complex to me.

Jubilation XXV is a bit sweet and sensual.

but you cannot go wrong with them. As soon as you smell the both fragrances, you will notice that they are rich and expensive .

Hard choice. Love both but the first one I bought was Jubilation.

I have never tried Epic Man but I love Jubilation XXV! It might be my current favorite.
