Which do you prefer: Green Irish Tweed or Green Valley

Thinking about picking up a green fragrance and I am looking at these two. Been wanting GIT for awhile but I hear Green Valley has a green/mint smell which really intrigues me and with it being faded out I would hate to miss out on this if smells as good as it sounds.

just take a look at the number of reviews of each. GIT is way more popular... in fact its Creeds most popular scent overall - so there is your answer

but try both, order samples and see which you like better

Cool Water.....Oh, sorry.... wrong thread.

I was disappointed with Green Valley - it had interesting top notes but quickly faded away to a slightly powdery mess. I'd go with GIT, but as always, this is completely subjective - why not get a sample before you buy?

Green Irish Tweed, no particular reason I just like it far better.

Nope, it's the right thread. We're talking about GIT after all, it's almost mandatory.

I'm not keen on either, but if I had to choose from just those two, GIT would be my choice. It's you chosing though, so sample both and don't buy blind. If you like a mint note then also try Selection Verte and Royal Water which are very good. I'm now off to get the one who said Cool Water

I would stick with GIT unless you prefer a large dose of ginger instead of violet leaf. Also, the chances of getting an older bottle of GV are greater.

I would choose Green Irish Tweed. It is a "more mature" Cool Water.

More often GIT.
But some days in fall and early spring I fiend for green valley.

Have both but prefer Green Irish Tweed.

I have and love 'em both. If the rumors of Green Valley being soon discontinued are true, I'd recommend getting it first. I'll forever kick myself for loafing on Vintage Tabarome.

Not taking anything away from Green Irish Tweed, but Green Valley is really an underrated masterpiece. One of the best upscale green/spring scents. It smells really expensive and refined. They both do, really, but I think you'd be bummed out if you one day decide you wanted Green Valley only to discover that it was hard to find. Also, I really dig the drydown of Green Valley-- it has a warm patchouli/sandalwood/oakmoss base that gets deeper as it goes. I also think Green Valley is a very safe blind buy-- I can't picture many people disliking it.

Totally agree.

You'll have to come across the big pond for that, my good man.

I couldn't resist. As Point Blank says, it's almost a requirement to bring up CW in any thread about GIT.

Green Valley

i also like GIT.
just not as much.

I think GIT is a much better fragrance. Not greener, though, just better. Though it's not a bad scent, I don't like Green Valley. It reminds me too much of all the wimpy 90s frags like L'Eau d'Issey.

I'm not a fan of either, so they're disappointingly equal to me. From that starting point I'd pick GIT because I have a weakness for violet elements and a friend of mine gushes about how he liked GIT. I'd pick it to remember his appreciation for it.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a bit of a cheerleader for Green Valley. I echo Indie_guy's comments.

GIT is more versatile, though.

Going against the grain--I'm a Green Valley fan. GIT has its time and place, but I can do (and enjoy) Green Valley more often.

Yep, you love it, man!

GIT is more versatile, but GV is a lot better in my opinion. Can't believe it isn't better received on basenotes.

I have to agree, I don't like either. For a green Creed, go with Original Vetiver.

I would go with Green Valley! It last longer than GIT as well...
