Chandler Burr lists six (6) feminines in the NYT The Moment blog, that he lists underneath the tagline: '...Of all the qualities perfumes possess, one of the most wonderful is the ability to surprise. So, for Madams delectation, a few revelations....

He goes on to mention Eau Claire des Merveilles by Hermes, Womanity by Thierry Mugler, Essence by Narciso Rodroguez, Bliss by Bliss Spa, Infusion d' Iris by Prada (the new EdT) and the brand new Beauty by Calvin Klein

Thanks! Interesting to see that he's getting so much out of Womanity! Makes me want to ask - where are the figs? Perhaps this deserves some real testing. Also nice to see the Hermès offering getting some good press.

Thanks Mike. "Delectation, revelations"; Chandler has a way with words.

+1

It's entertaining, but I confide much more in reviews by fellow basenoters. They seem to be more on the spot.

Thanks for sharing this, Mike. It's nice to know there will be some newness out there that isn't strictly niche. I need to experience Womanity. "Opium smoke, heated granite, crushed flowers, the ozone before a storm" - sounds like a construction site in Shanghai!

I agree. But he's writing for a wider audience. I enjoy reading his reviews anyway.

I must say I was surprised to see a fragrance from Bliss spa - I missed hearing about that release. It sounds dreadfully safe and pedestrian but I will smell it next time I see it. I love the smell of their Lemon & Sage body products.
