Good morning everyoneToday was suppose to be the first day back at work after my eye problem and the summer holiday, but my boss had mixed up the shifts....So it turned out she assumed I shouldn't be there today. It all ended with me going home since I need to study anyway. The eye specialist wasn't satisfied with the healing of my eye yesterday,so now I need to take those eye drops again! REALLY annoying!!!Probably shouldn't read to much, but I feel I have to since the exam is next monday!:O Sotd is Feminite du bois.

Hope your eyes are fully mended soon, ineespenes

TED LAPIDUS WOMAN:A breeze of fresh and sweet bergamot and freesia caresses us at the beginning. The heart is floral, consisted of cyclamen, orange blossom and jasmine. Base notes bring accords of patchouli, vanilla, musk and amber.

Comfort vibes to Shades and Inees. Wishes for clarity for Raindrop's decision-making process.

Dior Lily … applied like rain … just as I did for the first time three weeks ago tomorrow.

Joe, you smell wonderful!
I've spritzed a very small amount of Malle's Carnal Flower this AM from a sample. Hmmm, very flowery I'm not sure this is me, but it is very nice.

Hi all!

Today I´m in Forbidden Rose by Avril Lavigne

Notes contain red apple, white peach, pepper, heliotrope, lotus blossom, pomegranate, vanilla, chocolate & sandalwood.

The rose must certainly have been forbidden, since it is not there.

Get well wishes to those feeling poorly. Shades, I was glad to read you're feeling better and I hope you continue to improve.

Kenzo Amour

Have a lovely Saturday, all!

Say ladies and gents, I just read (on Fragrantica) that eBay Europe is banning the sale of tester bottles...can eBay USA be far behind?
Sending comfort and get well wishes to all who need them. ♥

Ineespenes, I hope your eye heals soon!

Musse, the pic of the Avril Lavigne bottle reminds me of the first Anna Sui with its purple/black colors.

Today, I settled on Tommy Girl as SotD. It hits just the right note with me on this casual Saturday.

Hello everyone -

I'm in Cartier's So Pretty today.

Montale-Black Aoud
A regal scent suffused with leather.
I can hardly wait for the ultimate dri-down;
sensuous rose petals that taste of love's sweet kiss.

Red rose, aoud, labdanum, sandalwood

My skin has been uber sensitive lately, I've been noticing a distinct stinging when I spray my fragrances. It's happened with several, so I think it's me, not the scents. So, I'll wear an oil based scent today. YOSH's sandalwood dream La Contessa.
RHM, I've noticed stinging/burning this past week, too — just the skin on the inside of the elbow. No redness develops, and the stinging goes away once the alcohol dries off, but still, ouch. Nowhere else on me is it that sensitive.

One spray of Vintage Arpege from 30 Roses.

This is adorable!

Another day, another Hermes ... today I'm wearing Eau de Gentiane Blanche.

Thanks for the well-wishes ... prednisone is my friend

Ine, I hope your eye is completely healed soon!
Another Hermes for me too! Hermes Hiris for this afternoon.
Hermès is continuing for me too! I may make it a Hermès weekend! Eau de Merveilles was one of the few fragrances I could deal with in today's 110 heat index.

Today was soooooo busy. It was Small's 6th birthday party (a couple of weeks early because she'll be in school in Switzerland on the actual day, so we have her Welsh party ahead of time). It went well, only a bit of rain, which was great compared to the monsoon it could have been, lots of lovely guests and chance to catch up with people we haven't seen for a while.

Anyway, SOTD: mine was vintage Dioressence extrait (appropriate for children's party? who gives a hoot?) and Small was resplendent in Guerlain's Spiriteuse Double Vanille. She's posh, see.

Hope you all had good days, with cake. xxx

My SOTE is Profumum Volo AZ 686.

Notes include gardenia, coconut and vanilla.

Givenchy Organza for me this evening - just one teensy spritz. Notes - Bergamot, orange blossom, gardenia, nutmeg, honeysuckle, tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, vanilla, amber, sandalwood, cedar. This one is huge and voluptuous. It might be a bit too much for me, but I love its sweet warmth.
Hey Quarry, what's up with us? I thought perhaps the fragrances were stinging because I've been in the sun but I always use sunscreen. Weird!

I was bad, I did not wear La Contessa like I said I would. Instead, I wore modern Chamade edt & lots of it. It was a foreshadowing because later I received a package from a very generous basenoter with a bottle of .... Chamade edt.

So my SOTE is also Chamade edt but an earlier version. The top is pretty much shot but my favorite part is the drydown, so I am a very happy camper!

Thank you "T"!
Since getting my bottle of JM Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, I've often taken a hit of it at night without officially recording it as SotE, but it's time to 'fess up.
(((Basenoters)))

Today I wore Antaeus. Thanks lillybelle!!

How can it be mid-August?

Didn't re-apply this a.m., as I could still smell traces of Hermes Ambre Narguile this morning from yesterday's scent synchro (wow, what longevity)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Wonderful news! You have the World's Most Fortunate Grandbabies for their having fragrant, glorious you to love them! Congratulations! (And how neat that your family would choose my dog's name for that baby. )

CONGRATULATIONSToalady!! So happy for you!! Girl or boy?

Happy birthday to Wordbird's very posh SMALL.
Ineespenes, I hope your eye heals soon! How annoying it must be!
Quarry, dont you feel better now, having FESSED UP?
Like your FORBIDDEN rose theory, Musse!
I forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Comdiva yesterday! Hope it was, indeed, HAAPPY!

My scent today was Quelques Fleurs vintage by Houbigant. Reminds me of powdery, polleny wild flowers.

Last night, and tonight, Im wearing UNE ROSE.
I love the opening -- dont laugh, but to me there is this strong blast of acrylic paint -- the kind you squeeze from a tube -- which makes me smile & reminds me of my college studio days. And then, of course, lots of ROSE. :-)
(((BNers))) - I just saw all the good wishes over the last day. Thank you so much! I wish I could hug you all in person - so thoughtful, you all are. BTW, I'm going with my instincts.

Congratulations Taolady, little Piper, and the rest of the family! How wonderful! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Wordie's Small, too!

SOTD: Laila by Geir Ness

Actually, I'm just wearing the lotion. The EDP can take on a funny harsh tinge in the opening, on some wearings, and I was just NOT in the mood. The lotion has none of the sharper edges. Lovely.

Dior Diorling for me today. Did not do a thing -- not counting eating and sleeping and watching some telly (BritComs, mostly).

Congratulations to the glorious Gramma of baby girl Piper.

Prayers to ines and shades.

You guys whisper a word or two about my teeth, if you would. Please? I know I need to pay a visit to a dentist, sissy as I am!

Congrats to Taolady, and positive thoughts to those of you with ailing parts. And hey – hugs all around!

I'm testing two Micallef fragrances today, Note Vanillee and Rose Aoud. They are both rich and simply beautiful. Count me among the Micallef fans...
