Introduction and Advice

Thread Starter
Hello, I have been thrown head first into the world of fragrances in the last few months from knowing absolutely nothing apart from Brut33 and Old Spice lol.

Most of what I have learned and the advice I have taken from youtube reviews and best sellers lists, my collection is pretty mainstream I suppose but so far there is not one scent that I am sick of yet (trying out the colognes in the shops is really confusing though after the first 3 or 4 I don't really know what I'm smelling any more

I think that I have a reasonable range that covers most occasions for me and I am very happy with it so far, but I would love to know if there is any colognes that you think are different enough from anything I have to be a 'must have' for me to test, or any comments on my want list (these I haven't tested yet but have read great reviews on.)
I would like to limit my collection to 18-20 bottles I think at this stage.

My humble collection so far I have:

Versace Man Eau Fraiche by Versace
Eternity by Calvin Klein
L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake
Jump by Joop!
London for Men by Burberry
Black by Bvlgari
Armani Code by Giorgio Armani
Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
Attitude Extreme by Giorgio Armani
Fahrenheit by Dior
Dreamer by Versace

My want to try list:

A*Men or B*Men by Thierry Mugler
Allure Pour Homme by Chanel
Gucci Pour Homme or Pour Homme II
Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme
John Varvatos by John Varvatos
Kenneth Cole Black for Men
L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent
Green Irish Tweed by Creed

I think these should round out my collection nicely if I like them what do you think?
Your guys photos really blow me away I have to say, colognes are such interesting things to collect I'm amazed that I haven't delved into them before my ripe old age of 42.

Cheers.

Hi VirutalT, welcome to basenotes! and welcome to the world of perfumes!

Get some Vetivers in your collection.
Vetiver by Guerlain,
Encre Noire by Lalique,
Vetiver Oriental by Serge Lutens.

Don't worry about your age, it's never too late! =). On that note, sniff some:
Equipage by Hermes.
New York by Parfums de Nicolai.
Egoiste by Chanel.
Dior Homme by Christian Dior.

You might also want to check out some leather scents:
Bel Ami by Hermes
Royal English Leather by Creed
Happy sniffing!
