I need to turn more negatives into positives today. So, with thanks to a splendid BNer who knows who she is, I've turned to the best :

Good morning! I'm sampling Byredo's Pulp today -- super tart, tart, tart blackcurrant. I like it better than the first time I tried it - maybe tart blackcurrants are growing on me.

Hmm... come to think of it, that sounds a bit painful, doesn't it?

Have a great Tuesday!

Hello everyone!

I'm in Acqua di Parma's Magnolia Nobile...magnolia bliss!

Y'all have a wonderful day!
phthalo, I love Pulp. My husband just got some for himself, and we love that blackcurrant note!

Today I've dabbed on a bit of Etro Heliotrope from a sample sent to me by a kind BNer.

Yeah, it takes a real man to pull off Dolce Vita! LOL!

My scent of the day was Dune pour Homme,
I've just changed into vintage Ysatis.

I just took a call I was expecting. The son and business heir to a publisher I've been working for since 1992 called to relate that his dad finally succumbed to cancer yesterday. Don't go crazy with condolences, my dears. My heart isn't broken to bits. It's just time for reflection, and I don't want to associate any particular fragrance with this passage, so I'll sniff and dab samples for now, and cry not for myself but for the wife of 44 years who was R’s partner since high school. R believed “you leave the dance with the one what brung you.”

30 Roses: My husband likes it, too! (says it smells a little like wine). Maybe if I give him my sample, he might be compelled to get some, so I can see if it continues to grow on me

Quarry, I'm so sorry - sending good thoughts...

Kisses and hugs!

Quarry, I'm so sorry (((((hug)))))

Happy birthday, Evangeline!

Annick Goutal Musc Nomade. It's so beautifully soft, clean and warm, slightly powdery; not high-pitched or sharp as some white musks can be.

Take care, all!

My Hypnotic Poison Elixir had arrived today.

So I'm wearing that to bed. Yum!

Happy Birthday, Evangeline! Wishing you a year filled with fragrance and fun!
Found the perfect cake:

Happy Birthday, Evangeline!
I don't know if you're in Louisiana or Wisconsin right now,
but I'm serving French Quarter beignets and Wisconsin State Fair cream puffs
so you're covered either way.
Oh, YUM, Quarry! I'm comin' over! :-)
Sending a hug of sympathy, too.

Wait a minute ... it's Evangeline's b-day?!

Congratz, honey!

@Your Majesty - Hugs to you, but, ahm,
those Wisconsin State Fair cream puffs
looks sooo 'over the top' American,
I'd like one ... or two, plz!

WOW! Some GORGEOUS (and delicious-looking) images today!

I started the day in Halston Couture. This stuff has amazing tenacity and is still going strong as I type.

But I also snuck out at lunchtime and had a spray of the achingly refined Calandre and a squirt of Womanity -- which I "don't hate", IYSWIM!!!

Hug to Quarry - your compassion and empathy remind me of good things in life (and people!)

Happy Birthday wishes to Evangeline

CRose - I love the print of what appears to be a Mitsouko ad. Where did you find it?

Hope your day got better Lessa - I know the feeling . Yesterday was certainly a manic Monday here.

SOTD: Prada Infusion d'Iris EDP

Hey, perhaps I should do a board search or start a thread, but do any of you know the difference (if any) between this EDP and the new EDT? The notes sound very different for the Infusion d'Iris EDT (vs. the EDP, which is a lovely incense-y iris). Here's the blurb from Neiman's website:

"Inspired by the search for the scent of the iris flower, the fresh and floral Infusion d'Iris Eau de Toilette combines delicate lily of the valley, powdery violet, sensual cedar, and the Italian memories of clean, ironed linen.

Fragrance notes: Iris pallida, muget, galbanum essence, heliotrope
"

I was in Kenzo Power AGAIN for work today. I just love it! Why is the drydown so appealing? Why? The whole movement of the scent is perfect, I love it from first note to last.

This evening, I'm testing this for the second time:

Notes according to LuckyScent are yuzu, rose japonica, jasmine, littoral moss, hinoki, and musk. I think it's fantastic. I've tested all four of Keiko Mecheri's new fragrances now, and Les Nuits d'Izu and Taormine are my favourites. Mulholland I found rather conventional, and I didn't care for Tarifa at all. Taormine reminded me of Dune, but it's been a while since I wore Dune so I'd need to wear them side by side to be sure of any real similarity. LNd'I has gone straight onto my wishlist. And I have to say, all four have the most amazing drydowns.

I'm looking at the most gorgeous summer evening rainbow. Nice night.

Happy birthday, Evangeline!

Good afternoon everyone, and Happy Birthday Evangeline!

I am in my favorite layering combo ever, equal parts of Bandit and Bulgari Black... it gets nice comments, that it both smells good and has "character" (in a good way)... so happy I had the brainstorm to combine those two! The longevity of both scents seems to be enhanced by the layering as well, yay!

Happy Birthday Evangeline!!

I had to put a hold on my quest to clear out my vanity. I woke up with a serious craving for Coromandel with a lil extra patchouli. So, I added some Aveda Patchouli to the mix. I am in scented bliss. I love Coromandel!!
