Not necessarily ones I like, but the ones that seem to be distinctly masculine and critically acclaimed classics. Still, VERY hard to pick just 5

Creed Green Irish Tweed
Chanel Egoiste
Kouros
Polo (original green)
L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme

i know everyone has there own opinion about what the bests are, but by common sense and majority opinion, what are the 5 greatest male fragrances of all time? im specifically looking to see if any recent fragrances make that list, for example a fragrance that im currently obsessing over: L'Instant de Guerlain

I will not mention the 5 greatest in my opinion i will try to mention the 5 greatest, which are very popular and will stay in the fragrance history and which are easy to get (because Creed fragrances are not so easy to get as for example some by D&G ) !

- Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
- A*Men by Thierry Mugler
- Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme
- Aqva Pour Homme Bvlgari
- 1 Million by Paco Rabanne

Again i will say these are not in my opinion the greatest

But now i will tell you what should be the greatest of all time :

- Antidote by Viktor & Rolf
- Hombre by Victorio & Lucchino
- Ultrared Men by Paco Rabanne
- Pour L`Homme by Jacques Fath
- Dior Homme Intense by Dior

The greatest men perfume ever created gotta be the original Vetiver by Guerlain, the version for sale today is just a pale shadow of the original. Anybody that had a chance to wear that masterpiece will back me up, it was awesome. Unfortunately it is impossible to get it today.
Another great one was Patou pour Homme, another masterpiece not available anymore.
Sashka Black by M. Micallef and J. Casanova pour Homme are not longer available either.
Montana Parfume d'Homme would be my fifth great perfume of all times no longer available.

Now among perfumes in the market now I would mention:

Ungaro III
Silver Water Mountain
Tsar
Himalaya
and last a toss up between Vermeil for Men, Jacomo by Jacomo, Krizia Uomo and Basile Uomo. Can't decide among these four.

Since the answer to the question in this case is subjective (unlike sports, which generally use official stats to rank players), the best way to answer this question, in my opinion is to list out the most popular/most sold fragrances.
My knowledge of fragrances is limited, but here is my list, based on how little I know

JPG - Le Male
Armani - AdG
Davidoff - Coolwater
YSL - La Nuit De L'Homme
Issey Miyake - L'Eau D'Issey

Mind you, I am not particularly fond of half of this list.

There are still tons I haven't tried, but of numerous ones I have tried:
(in this order):

VanCleef & Arpels pour homme
Polo green
Rive Gauche
Costume National Homme
Quorum

Yeah... 3 out of 5 are "powerhouse" frags.
I'll add that Paco Rabanne 1 Million is quite good, and women seem to like it alot.
