British alternative musical prodigy and 'mad genius' who paved the way for Tori Amos, Bjork, etc.
Been in love with her since college...

I love her, and I'd imagine she'd wear the quirky but classic (and brilliant)
Niki de Saint Phalle

Something by Vivienne Westwood.

Some very lavish and surprisingly conservative British niche scent, like some vaulted (not snobbishly generic) Creed, Penhaligons or a creation by Clive Christian designed for female wearers

I reckon something dark like Vol de Nuit .

Kate Bush will be wearing some loud 80s fragrance
like Ysatis or Poison!

'She wanted to test her husband,
she knew exactly what to do.
A pseudonym to fool him,
she couldn't have made a worst move.
She sent him scented letters,
and he received them with a strange delight,
just like his wife,
but how she was before the tears.'

I looove Kate, too!

Another big Fan here, particularly of the The Dreaming LP and The 9th Wave, but most everything else up to The Senusal World.
Anyhow, I'd say something by Aveda, like Ancient Attar.

divine l'infante

She may wear the perfume called Lion Heart. Lion Heart was also the name of her 2nd album back in 1978

I'd imagine this exquisite woman would wear something of her own creation. An elixir of botanicals, white flowers and resins. If she did do a pre-made fragrance, perhaps something like Mystra by Aēsop. Bah-booosh-kuh!

Someone should create a perfume called Wuthering Heights. It will be both earthy and ethereal in turns. It will contain oakmoss.

Hey jnailen!

Thanks for inspiring me, I've been listening to Cloudbusting on endless repeat for the past half hour. What a beautiful song!

Great song, and yeah you can never tire of hearing her beautiful voice and music...well, she inspires me as my favorite female artist across all genre. She is absolutely Great. There are a lot of Kate wannabes but no one like her.

I was thinking she's more the abstract artistic type so maybe she'd like AG's Sables, but then again she's her own pretty quirky person like I Am Dandelion, and then there's the more "exotic" side of her so maybe she'd go and flaunt some obscure-woodsy-dark floral-fall-winter-Russian fragrance, or at least inspired by that, like New Orleans' French Bourbon's Romanov (honey, peach, and roses in a dark base)

I imagine her wearing incense perfume, maybe she wears Avignon while Running Up That Hill

i whould like to see her in

Jicky

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania

I'd agree with the Jicky I'm thinking something slightly herbal. Maybe with some lavender in as well.

Oh and another fan here too

Another Kate fan here.

I envision her wearing an old French classic, maybe a Patou or a Guerlain, some scent that would have seemed oddly inappropriate (but sophisticated!) for such a young woman in the late 1970's/early 1980's.

"In the warm room
Her perfume reaches you
Eventually you'll fall for her
Down you'll go to where the mellow wallows."

In the Warm Room by Kate Bush

I think she would wear Ormonde Woman or l'Artisan Voleur des Roses, especially early Wuthering Heights Kate.

I love her too, one of my favourites from her later work was "Don't Give Up" duet with Peter Gabriel.

Another Kate fan here. I just love her.

I can see her in Messe de Minuit or Kingdom.

MMM...Yes!...Obviously another Kate fan here! (I've spent time crying my eyes out at some of her songs, in a good way LOL)... I think she'd definitely wear whatever suited her quirky fancy at the time, but imagine her in Citizen Queen because it to me calls up a fair skinned dark haired beauty with loads of OOMPH. But I also imagine she'd definitely wear Mitsuoko, Jicky, and yes LGD I can certainly see her in Ysatis or Poison! The Cloudbusting version of Kate would likely be wearing something like... Habit Rouge... to summon up the essence of the song's daughter/father (the son/father of the real story).

I love Kate too!

I put him on the wedding list
I get him and I will not miss...

I can imagine her wearing Poison for some stage personality, and I think Hillaire is right on with Niki de Saint Phalle... and I also think she'd wear a surprisingly tender floral green scent (maybe AG Eau de Camille) that would go together with her beautiful song Under the Ivy:

It wouldn't take you long to tell you how to find me, to tell you where I'll be
This little girl inside me is retreating to her favorite place
Go into the garden
Go under the ivy
Go under the leaves
away from the party
Go right to the rose,
go right to the white rose...

Hello, everyone. I just joined and stumbled across this thread. I love Kate. Her voice is beautiful, and her music has helped me get through some tough times in my life.
The answer to what scent she would wear seems obvious to me: Night Scented Stock by Penhaligon's.

Even the description of their fragrance applies to Kate, "Hazy with arresting uncommon beauty."
