On the same vibe with Joe P. -- the holly date every fragrance wearer should know and observe as a public holiday -- August 19. Only I am in Jean Patou L'Heure Attendue, remember Mlle Coco and Jean Patou share a birthday. I tried to tell His Royal Duckness to synchronize in Chanel tomorrow -- he said No, it is Caron, the group voted. I will be in Chanel, my apologies.

The tooth is doing fine -- I guess, it is not with me any longer. A few years ago I had a brilliant idea -- if they get to keep our teeth, we should be paid. Did not work though.

Z., I suggest Dana Chantilly as your SotD for "the day".
E., how in the world did I miss Evangeline Day?
H., I love you too.

I don't own any Caron so I might join you in Chanel tomorrow. It's a while since I've worn any.

Today I'm testing the new Smell of Weather Turning from our gorilla boys. It's a bit odd, but pleasant. Much softer than the usual scent style from Mark and Si. I get a bit of a metallic edge, a lot of coumarin (must be the hay absolute) and there is that minty quality to it too. Not my favourite from the line, but very wearable. I preferred it when the whole room was scented with it at the gallery. My skin makes it a little too sweet.

Flying out the door shortly wearing La Rose du Petit Prince, which I've decanted for the granddaughter of my dearest girlfriend.

Unexpected invite will put me in company with old friends and get me a private tour of the Great Lakes Water Institute and School of Freshwater Sciences plus a second treat of visiting an urban aquaponics/fish farm, Sweet Water Organics, which was created inside an old industrial building.

This is freaking exciting for old Q.

Hubby's car in shop for 2 days, so I had to fly out the door this morning. Grabbed Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur for the ride. What a week! Sheesh.

Big Hugs and Howdies to all

Q - have a great tour. Sounds like you'll be as happy as a fish in water!

Histoires de Parfums 1826, a wonderful swirl of spice, incense and patchouli surrounding a small white floral heart. I love how the patchouli is done here: dusty-dry, with a bitter-chocolate undertone.

Have a great day, all!

Hello everyone -

I'm in another glorious Rosine...sigh. Poussière de Rose will have to join the others on my Wish-List.

Wolfie - don't you worry about missing anything. You had your tooth to fret about and I'm so glad you have relief! You made up for it anyway (and you made me lol with your dentist anecdote!) so thank you!

Quarry - what fun...good for you! Have a great time!

Y'all have a wonderful day!

Sort of a fresh, watery, minty vetiver - very weird...it's taken me several wearings to even figure it out.

Lovely, crisp unisex Eau. Beautiful!

Heeley-Sel Marin
A perfect rendition of a salt marsh or a
romp in the ocean on a hot day.
My eyes are closed and I float aimlessly, quietly.
I dream of the beautiful parrot fish darting
among the rocks in the dappled sunlight.

Sel Marin Notes;
lemon, Sicilian bergamot, sea salt, seaweed, vetiver, birch, cedar

Good Morning All. The SOTD is L'Oocitane's 'CALANQUES' limited edition, introduced this month. This is a lovely scent. I would definitely consider this a unisex fragrance. Some have described it as "Fresh, sunny, and aquatic". Others say,"Woody, aromatic" I would agree that it encompasses both descriptions. Notes include;
Top: Lemon, Mandarin, Lentiska
Middle: Aquatic Accords, Jasmine, Lentiska
Bottom: Whitewoods, Cypress, Benzoin Pine Tree
The only drawback that I've observed is the sillage is pathetically lacking, I will probably purchase the body milk (lotion) for this purpose, only because I really enjoy the frarance.

Not planned for me either, but after reading the posts here, I want to wear Chanel too. It's Cuir de Russie for me today. I don't do Coco!

I'm wearing Bath & Body Works Pink Grapefruit today. It's sweet and juicy, and reminds me of a summery cocktail.

Quarry, I certainly know how much fun you're having right now.

I'm liberally sprayed with the extremely realistic Pineapple by Demeter.

This is a bright and happy smell, though short-lived as most of the Demeters are (so there isn't really time to get tired of smelling like a pineapple.)
30 Roses, you smell wonderful! I love the scent of pineapple.

Happy Birthday to Coco Chanel! What path would modernism in fashion and fragrance have taken without her influence? Hmm...I'll have to think about it.
Wow, almost wore No. 19 today, not even remembering it was Ms. Chanel's birthday! I went instead with No. 5 Eau Premiere.

OMG - my fiancé is such a RAT!!

It seems he wanted to teach me a lesson about my enthusiastic, gleeful presumption regarding a certain perfume I've been wanting for a while, Une Rose. We both love it and he's even asked about it lately; didn't I still like it and was I going to be getting it soon, and why am I messing with all these other rose perfumes when I've found the best one, etc, etc. So you see my side, right? Naturally, I figured I'd be getting it for my birthday, which was Tuesday.

Well, I should have kept my yap shut but I couldn't help myself. I kept talking and talking about it and even reading 30 Roses' posts about it to him "Oh, she's wearing it again today! Lucky girl - I bet she smells divine! I can't wait to wear mine...we'll be scent-twins, tee hee hee!" I'm such a child when it comes to birthdays and presents. Anyway, I certainly would have reported to you that I was wearing Une Rose yesterday morning had I actually received it for my birthday, but clearly I did not! Pooh! It took extraordinary effort to refrain from asking where the rest of my present was when given beautiful flowers and chocolates, but I managed. As far as he could see I was thrilled and not disappointed in the least...but I was disappointed, and also a bit confused. Had he forgotten? Am I actually not getting Une Rose for my birthday?? How can this be???

Cut to a couple of hours ago - he called from work and asked me if I would take a couple of shirts to the cleaners (which was an odd request since I go once a week and he never pays any attention to this stuff, anyway...) and what do you think I found underneath these shirts but a beautifully wrapped present with my name on it, and my very own bottle of Une Rose inside - Yaaahoooooo!!! He was going to give it to me last night figuring that one day late was lesson enough, but he forgot! So rather than make me wait until tonight, he let me off the hook and lead me right to it! He's still a rat to be sure, but he's just such a cute, sweet and generous rat!

My scent of the afternoon is Frederic Malle's dazzling, intoxicating Une Rose! Yay!

Scent of the Evening

Hypnotic Poison

Eau de Toilette layered with the Elixir

It's been, what? Three months since I've been in this beauty last.
Way too long, that's for sure. The second I sprayed myself with
this masterpiece, I instantly forgot all other so-called favourites
of mine. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, can compare to this!

I wanna eat myself up when I'm in this confidence booster!

Wearing Hermes, Un Jardin Sur le Nil

You folks are always so instructive. I did not know it was Ms Chanel's B-day. This evening, when Mr Ellena's creation has worn off, I will splash on some precious No 19 from a vinatge mini.

Looking forward to Caron Syncho Day tomorrow, too.

Yay, Evangeline! We shall be scent twins indeed!

Oh, and I did find it helped slow the progression (keeping the rose fresher) if I sprayed it not on skin but on my, er, bra.

Evangeline's hubby is a real (sly!) sweetie, isn't he? Enjoy the Une Rose! (Such a beauty!)

SOTD: Bandit EDP

Is it a little heavy for August? Oh heck, it's FINE. I totally spaced out on Chanel No. 19 (possibly my favorite!) and today. Dang!

BTW, BayKAT's review of Bandit is Excellent, with a capital E. I love these stories that you all share....

I started today in Samsara... touched up this afternoon with Le 3me Homme, and am now in Terre d'Hermes... I almost chose Chanel No. 19 and now I know why I thought of it. (as if I know what day it is, normally)...

Oh, Quarry... what an INTERESTING tour! You'll have to post piccies or something!

Off to NYC tomorrow, this time to Madame Tussaud's. My daughter has never seen a wax museum-- should be fun.

Then, of course, some sniffing at the places we missed on our last trip. Aedes, C. O. Bigelow, Enfleurage, perhaps MiN, depending on the time available.

Although I didn't know today was Mme. Coco's birthday, I still celebrated with Coco Mademoiselle. I needed a scent that made me feel confident for my first day in my new job. Besides, I probably should break in my new workmates slowly and carefully to all the new scents they're going to be experiencing...

Hello!!!
I am glad to be here. These last few days I've had a very hard time trying to log-in here. I am not sure if it is the site or my computer. Oh well. Today I wore Poiver S____ by Hermes. I liked it but it is so light. Yesterday I wore 24 Faubourg (very nice), and the day before Osmanthus Interdite (lovely!).

Best wishes for a very relaxing and fun weekend!

Me too. If any of you need a new addiction, please come join us. It's really really fun!

Evangeline, what a great gift! I think Une Rose is the best, and I'd be thrilled if my husband surprised me with a bottle!

My Thursday SotD was Cote d'Amour.
