Your current Top 5 Gourmand scents?

Thread Starter
I am a fan of gourmands (among many other scents) and was wondering what are you current top5 on that category (i stated current as we sometimes crave chocolate, sometimes fruit, sometimes meat if you know what i mean)...

mine right now would be: (with a mini-review)

1. Laurence Dumont's Vanille Gingembre:
Light, perfect balance between the stars, very slight coconutty scent, the ginger here is not sour at all and softly spicy.
2. Laurece Dumont's Figue Sauvage:
Light also, very delectable scent, meaty fig with violet, soap, and very clean, softly sugary.
3. Mugler's A*Men:
Powerhouse chocolate, vanilla, tar, rubber, smoke and sweat, strong sillage/longevity. It will last on your skin a loooooong time.
4. Nina Ricci's Nina EdT: pretty, soft run of the mill fruity floral with apple vanilla and raspberries. A feel-good scent.
5. Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille:
Tobacco spiced chocolate and creamy but dry vanilla, strong sillage and longevity.

cheers

Well, I don't have five, but I do have three favorites; Tobacco Vanile, Ambre Sultan, and Aomassai.
1. Bhiel pc02: A lavender honey/cardamom dream wrapped in a cashmere blanket. Refined, soft, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. There's a hint of powder here, but not much.

2. Hilde Soliani Cioco Spesizissimo: Basil/chocolate. Fresh and herbal with cocoa. Strange combo, but a great summer frag. It works!

3. M. Micallef Note Vanille: Boozy, warm vanilla with a hint of spice.

4. Frapin 1270: Cognac, dried fruits, spice.

5. Kilian Love: Decadently sweet honeysuckle/marshmallow. Fun and yummy.
I'll second Tobacco Vanille, and add two other pipe tobacco gourmands, Ambre Narguile and Back To Black.

My other pick would be New Haarlem.

I don't think I have a fifth. I swear, the more frags I try, the pickier I get...
1. Gourmand Coquin by Guerlain
2. Love by Kilian
3. Ambre Narguile by Hermes
4. New Haarlem by Bond No. 9
5. The Au Rouge by Bulgari

I don't have five but i have one it's Christian Audigier's Ed Hardy Love & Luck

As close as I can come to a gourmand:

Shalimar
SL Borneo 1834 and Five O'clock au Gingembre
Eau de Charlotte
Tonka Imperiale
PdN Vanille Tonka
Vanille Noire Mexique by La Maison de la Vanille
Serendipitous by Serendipity 3
Angel
Lolita Lempicka
Pink Sugar
Angel
A*Men
Sonia Rykiel (the orange/red sweater bottle)
Serendipitous
Pink Sugar
Love By Killian
Jo Malone Anise & Vanilla (not exactly "foody" but deliciousness nonetheless)
Thierry Mugler (Angel) Innocent
Lolita Lempicka
Gale Hayman Delicious Cotton Candy

I like most sweet gourmand scents, some more than others. I've rarely met one I didn't at least like, except for the ones that smell like plastic or have a burnt impression.

p.s. Forgot to mention Kenzo Jungle l'Elephant and L'Artisan Bois Farine. Love both of those. And Angel Coffee.
If Pink Frangipani by Lucy B can be considered a gourmand, it would be my favorite. The notes are Australian flower essences, pink grapefruit, pineapple, red suva frangipani, heliotrope and coconut milk.

The more typically known as gourmands from my wardrobe are:
1. Miss Dior Cherie by Christian Dior
2. Wish by Chopard
3. Flower Party by Yves Rocher
4. Nina by Nina Ricci
5. Pink Sugar by Aquolina
Keiko Mecheri's Loukhoum (and Loukhoum eau Poudrée and Parfum du Soir) are at the top of my list - I could mainline all three, but Loukhoum is my original favorite.

Guerlain's Iris Ganache, but this is one of those confections that's just too gorgeous to actualy eat.

Angel, especially in the body cream, but it's got to be the old "celestial" cream, before they changed it. I'm often tempted to greedily smear great gobs of this all over my face and mouth, and the amazing texture makes it doubly hard to resist.

Jean Patou's Sira des Indes reminds me of Bananas Foster being flamed in a French Quarter restaurant filled with fragrant flowers - tasty and beautiful!

And last but not least, Pink Sugar. I get more compliments on this than any other fragrance I wear, and I love it too!
Hermèssence Vanille Galante
Hermèssence Ambre Narguilé
Calyx by Prescriptives
Rahat Loukhoum
Pink Sugar
My very vanilla-heavy list:

L'Artisan Havana Vanille - gently smoky and lush
Lostmarc'h Lann-Ael - creamy, creamy, creamy
Musc Ravageur - sweet spices
VC&A Orchidee Vanille - awfully sweet, but I love it
Tie, because I can't stop at 5: By Kilian Love/Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille

Keiko Mecheri - Loukhoum
Guerlain - Iris Ganache
Frederick Malle - L'Eau d'Hiver
L'Artisan - Jour le Fete
Serge Lutens - Rahat Loukhoum

I guess it's obvious that I'm a nut for marzipan, Turkish delight, and all things almond-y.
Dior Addict, Rahat Loukhoum, Angel, Un Bois Vanille, Jour de Fete.
I love gourmands!!

My current top 5-

1. Ava Luxe Vanilla Musk - This is a gorgeous creamy, rich vanilla - very desert-like.
2. Missoni Missoni - Chocolate and syrupy fruits, it reminds me of chocolates filled with fruity liqueur.
3. L'Occitane Honey & Lemon - Honey, lemon, caramel and vanilla - bliss
4. Ava Luxe Love's True Bluish Light - another creamy vanilla, this is lighter than Vanilla Musk but equally yummy.
5. Etro Heliotrope - More creamy scents! This one is a wonderful almond cake scent, it's a little thin but completely evokes the memory of the almond cake I used to eat when I was little
post #18 of 59
Not sure how many of these are really "pure" gourmands ( most of them have some non-foody element ), but they're all deliciously dessert-like to my nose.

Serge Lutens - Fille En Aiguilles

Deliciously spicy and candied; turns pine into something I want to eat. Balances "tasty" with "wearable" perfectly, in my opinion.

Biehl Parfumkunstwerke - AL02

Oriental, incense-like ode to stewed fruit. Nothing else I know like this.

Parfums MDCI - Peche Cardinal

Creamy, nutty, floral evocation of peach. Glorious.

Parfum d'Empire - Ambre Russe

Boozy, spicy, syrupy amber that aims for excess and achieves it beautifully.

Parfumes By Nature - Craving

The most overtly "foody" fragrance on my list. Coffee, chocolate, and hazelnuts, warming and refined.
Le Prince Jardinier: Ciel Mon Jardin
Hermessence: Ambre Narguile
Serge Lutens: Rahat Loukhum
Parfumerie Generale: Aomassai
Comptoir Sud Pacifique: Vanille Banane
Generally I avoid them, but when they are good they are very, very good!

•Guerlain Iris ganache
• Michael Storer Winter Star
•Hermes Ambre narguilé
• Bois Farine (l'Artisan)
• I absolutely cannot wear it but I think Bond No . 9 New Haarlem is glorious.
•I'm drawn to ELO Like This which is oddly gourmand
post #21 of 59
How could I have omitted my favorite gourmand, the groundbreaking Farnesiana by Caron! Think fresh out-of-the-oven angel food cake.

I'm not sure I have 5, that I wear, anyway. So, my all time faves:

Jour de Fete (#1!)
Nina - oddly enough, this is somewhat strawberry-ish to my nose.
Hypnotic Poison
Mure et Musc
MGP Vocalise - floral and berry jam

*Watkins Vanilla dry oil- It's cheap and scented enough on it's own, but good to layer w/ as well.
**I like using the chocolate Axe scent as car fragrance.
While I adore Ambre Sultan and Etro Heliotrope, I don't classify them as gourmands. My five would be:
1. Vanille Abricot (wearing it today!)
2. Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
3. Eau de Charlotte
4. Miss Dior Cherie
5. Pink Sugar

On her:

1. Black Orchid - I will NEVER find this one less than sexy
2. Kiehl's Forest Rain (wet tropical leafyness transcends into almond/marzipan type base)
3. Serge Lutens Arabie (don't sleep on this one)
4. L'Artisan Havana Vanille (L'Artisan does excellent feminines, this is delicious)
5. Credd Sublime vanille (another simple yet undeniably delicious one)
Shout to Chopard Casmir and Ralph Hot for being common values yet very delicious. And of course the eternally sexy, no matter how common Lolita lempicka.

On me:

1. Santal Noble (the OG Gourmand)
2. Tobacco Vanille (almost too sweet, but still great)
3. Eav Des Bavx (dries down to delicious tonka/vanilla)
4. Frapin 1270 ( great on her also)
5. L'Anarchiste (cinnamon applesauce is a food)
Shout to B*Men's toast, Polo Double Black, and A'Men Pure Coffee/Pure Malt on the designer level

Gourmand is not my fave, I have a problem overlapping, but I like these:

1. Plus Que Jamais by Guerlain
2. Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens
3. Farnesiana by Caron
4. Amber Narguile by Hermes
5. Patchouli by Jalaine (maybe not gourmand, but it makes me want to eat it, so it qualifies for me)

oh and I will add my new Kus Kus from New Orleans, which gives me a comfort foodie fix somehow.

In no particular order:

1. Jeux de Peau/Serge Lutens - this is a brand new love as I only just recently got to sniff it for the first time. I'm a little surprised this didn't get more attention on the board here (or maybe I missed it). This is what I go to Lutens for - unique, complex but no chaotic or lacking sense. I really, really love Jeux de Peau.

2. Peche Cardinale/Parfums MDCI - still the best peach I've ever sniffed in a perfume

3. Bois Farine/L'Artisan

4. POTL Luctor et Emergo

5. Lea St Barth/Calypso tied with Jour de Fete

I'm not sure I've got 5 primarily gourmands among my wardrobe or faves because I'd rather just eat dessert than wear it -BUT, I sampled CiocoSpesizissimo by Hilde Soliani recently and thought it was really an exceptional chocolate scent.

L'or Torrente has a creamy sugared coffee note that I really dig- just the way I like coffee
Ambre Narguille has that apple pie note- makes me crave vanilla ice cream
Eau de Gimgembre by Roger & Gallet
Bouche Baie by Nez a Nez- some kind of coconut dark fruit streudel

Dang I'm surprised I have 5...

Arabie and Rahat Loukoum by Serge Lutens, Chocolate greedy by Montale

I'm not a huge gourmand fan, so the only one I like is L'artisan Tea for Two.

I have samples of Bond No. 9 New Haarlem and Serge Lutens Arabie and neither appeals to me
post #55 of 59
I've long grown out of my gourmand phase but still have the odd favourite:

Arabie - Serge Lutens
Sweet Oriental Dream - Montale
Choco Musk - Al-Rehab (a wonderful cheapie)

Honourable mentions:

Spiritueuse Double Vanille - Guerlain (some claim it's more of an oriental than a gourmand)
Lei - Mazzolari
