L'instant Guerlian EDP vs Dior Homme Intense

Hey guys,

Wanting a bit of guidance on a blind buy. Sadly none of the perfume shops here in Calgary carry either of these highly regarded beauties. First off, I want to state that I am 22 and typically do have a liking for younger fragrances.

I hear on both of these their basenotes turn almost borderline Gourmand. Just curious which one you would recommend to me and why?

The use would be for everyday general wear.

What a coincidence! I'm buying both of these with my grant money! I've tried and owned a sample of L'instant but have only tried the original version of Dior Homme. So for that reason I couldn't say one or the other, and I think it may just come down to personal preference. But L'instant is beautiful, and may be my favorite gourmand. It's a bit sweet, a bit spicy, and all around warm. It has a BEAUTIFUL cocoa note that makes me think of hot chocolate. It's very comforting and just so damn good.

Well, I'm haven't tried DH Instense so I can't weigh in on this really.

The L'Instant EdP is very nice. Fairly light. Cocao-ish as opposed to chocolate. I would have a tough time with it as an everyday wear, but that may just be me personally.

I can't deal with non stop gourmand-ish scents.

For everyday general wear it might be best if you use L'Instant PH edp..DHI is just too intense for that...still ,go easy on the spray.

They're both great, I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of them. But my vote goes to L'Instant EDP as the better of the two.

Absolutely!

Just take note: a main difference is found on the sillage/projection scale.
DH Intense is king on this, a real solid sillage monster.
By contrast, LPH Intense is a rather gentle companion.

If you like "younger" fragrances get Dior. I tried just EDT of L'instant but I wouldnt call it "young" fragrance. Dior is much more wearable for people at your age.

I bet that many young men like and wear both of them but I am not going to buy L'Instant till I am 30.

I must be the exception here, since L'Instant Extreme was very heavy on me (the scent impregnated at my bag, badge and wallet for almost a month, and i didn`t spray it at them!), i remember it being very spicy and creamy, a classy gourmand. Dior Homme Intense is easier to me to wear it, since the gourmand notes on me stay a long time but in a quiet voice. If you can, buy both, they are great! L'Instant Extreme is being sold at a great price at fragrancenet (i`ve already got my bottle, since i regret have selling it)

Dior Homme of course.. But L'instant is NOT a bad choice! It really boils down to what U want! If you want to be noticed yet quiet, get L' instant. If you intense with great sillage, go with Dior Homme Intense! But play it safe & get both! LOL

L'Instant EDP for everyday wear, for sure. DHI is wonderful but I would get very tired of wearing it daily.

I also find that Dior is the more youtful of the two on my skin. But, buy whichever you enjoy wearing.

Thanks for the further input, I think I will start with Dior Homme Intense and then pick up Extreme a bit later as many are saying that Intense is somewhat more youthful

I think that is best route to go for now, now I need to find a place where I can find a Decant of LIPH-E.

I don't think I could wear DHI every day. It's a nice frag, but I'd suffocate. L'Instant is smoother and more subtle.

DH screams "hey everyone smell me! weeeee"
L'Instant politely says, "why yes, of course I smell good."
