Happy Day
Comme de Garcons Incense series :KYOTO

Kyoto is Buddhism and Shintoism, a fragrance for meditation, named after the city of Kyoto, considered to be the heart of Japan. Kyoto is calm and wise, it takes us through the temples of the city, making us think and reconcile. The eternal green aromatic cypress mixes with calm and powerful elegance of cedar; vetiver invites us to listen to the breathing of black and warm earth. Powerful, yet not rough,

Wearing A La Nuit today.

Have a good day!

I'm riddled with pre-reformulation OPIUM and I don't care who knows it. I'm blasting sillage all over the show. This is the edt version from the little heart-shaped 30ml bottle.

Tonight it will be the EdP.

You have been warned. Get out now or face the consequences.

I'm in despair at this persistent, heavy rain -- wettest August in UK for some 30 years -- though this of course does not come close to experiences in other parts of the world ....

Cuir de Lancome, to complement my outfit.

I'm wearing Angel today. I'm loving this cooler morning! I don't think it will last, it will probably get hot again soon, but I'm enjoying it while I can.

Happy Thursday to all!

Hello everyone!

I'm in deep, dark and velvety roses today, with Midnight Oud from Juliette Has a Gun. The saffron and oud here is so opulent....I think this will have to be my first fb purchase from JHAG.

Y'all have a great day!

B]Vol de Nuit (vintage Eau de Cologne)[/B] by Guerlain

Blame the grey cloudy weather. I wanted to wear my new Halston Man sample. But then I was getting dressed and I glanced over at my VdN bottle and the melancholy, romantic feeling of the scent made me ache to wear it - so I did.

I'm glad I did.

I thought I'd give Demeter Naturals 100% Natural Lilac one more try before deciding whether to send it back for the "satisfaction guaranteed" refund... and it is awful. Eau de Chap Stick. No lilac at all. Back it goes!

Everyone smells absolutely yummy today!

I didn't get my fragrance on until just now. Had to hold off b/c of my yearly mammo this morning. Don't know WHY scent on my wrists would skew a mammo test, but...

Now I am totally enjoying SL La Myrrhe, from a decant here at work.

Enjoying all the pics today, BTW, esp Sophie and Petruccijc's!!

Having scrubbed off the awful non-lilac on my wrist, I've now sprayed myself liberally with the sample of SMN Mughetto I brought back from Aedes.

I'm hoping that the weird urinous drydown I smelled 4 hours after I sprayed it on my arm at Aedes was a fluke.

Will update this post with my conclusions later-- is this bottle-worthy?

Edit: Boring.

Evening scent:Comme des Garcons incense series :Jaislmer

Jaisalmer is Hinduism, named after the ancient Indian city of Jaisalmer, situated in the desert, north-western part of India, in Rajasthan. Jaisalmer means ‘Golden City’ and in ancient times it was placed on the route between India and Egypt. Indian traders were transporting ebony to Egypt, and therefore it is one of the main notes in this fragrance. Red hot pepper is mixed with aromatic warm cinnamon and cardamom, incense is here spicy, woodsy and earthy.

The main notes are cardamom, incense, cinnamon, amber, benzoin, red hot chilly pepper, Guaiac wood and ebony.

So here I am two days from the wedding and ONE day from "Meet the In-Laws" at the "rehearsal dinner". I am second guessing myself on everything today! Maybe I should call a casting service in NYC and hire a dazzling haute couture mommy to be my stand in...I'll go to the shore instead. Sadly, I have conjured up someone like Catherine Deneuve as my daughter's MIL to be. I know this is not true, but anxiety brings out my capacity for catastrophising.

I haven't decided on a perfume. Naturally, I am behaving as if that is a truly momentous decision. I thought LHB for Friday, Sa Maj la Rose for the wedding, and for the brunch on Sunday (where we bid a fond farewell to everyone then go home and crash) I was thinking either Douce Amere or Vol de Nuit. But then I thought Zibeline X3 days. Still no decision.

Today I am wearing Le Dix and thinking, hmm that might be nice. Then I thought "wear something vintage like My Sin". It is one of the few things I have to decide as everything else is written in stone, so to speak.

Burberry The Beat for me today - it sparkles. It was lovely and cool this morning, so I thought this might be a good choice, and it was! Why don't I wear this more often? I know this is supposed to be marketed to a "younger" crowd, but who cares? I like it.

And Petruccijc, I think I might speak for many of us (or maybe only for myself) when I say, "Yum."

SOTE was (from a newly purchase mini) Weil de Weil Parfum de Toilette.

Great gosh almighty, this scent is fabulous. Zibeline while you are dealing with the wedding chaos, if your ears burn, it's because I'm sending love across the universe for turning me on to this classic. Instant love....and like other of my instant loves, it's discontinued.
Cue music from Gone With The Wind: Knit waves the mini over head and proclaims "As God is my witness I will seek out and buy a larger bottle this very night, and never be Weil-less again!" ...The End
