Morning y'all, today we are doing one of my fave houses - Givenchy!

I'll start with some vintage Ysatis.

No Givenchy for me so I'm wearing Lust by Gorilla Perfume.

Sorry to break the Givenchy trend, but its Djedi for me today... in celebration of my mother's 61st!

SotD already applied so Givenchy this evening I think.
No Givenchy here... But Guerlain's Djedi, reissued Parfum. Taken as a women's perfume, it's Guerlain's most unusual, being totally unsweetened and based largely on vetiver. The earthy-smoky-dry-smelling essential oil from vetiver grass root is often perceived as masculine, but it's used as a fixative and harmonizer in almost half of all feminine perfumes, playing its part unnoticed as backing drummer behind the key notes (which is why many people doesn't know what vetiver really smells like). Djedi is the negative image: Here, vetiver is the predominant ingredient, the one highlighted, and that to an extent of rawness far from matched in Jean-Paul Guerlain's manful Vetiver.

Good morning! My SOTD is Givenchy Gentleman (vintage) - for Synchronized Friday.

Top notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Rose, Honey
Middle notes: Patchouli, Jasmine, Cedar, Orris
Base notes: Amber, Vetiver, Patchouli, Leather

Givenchy III for me.
Have a good day everybody!
Still with a whiff of yesterday's Opium, which you all know is a real clinger even after a shower, I applied a couple of sprays of ANGE AU DEMON this morning. I should have been sensible and applied it to my arms rather than my neck, as the rampaging top notes hit me like a rock at 6 o'clock this morning. I scrubbed within minutes.

I wasn't in the mood for it. The house of Givenchy is not really me, lovely though it is for many others. Had it not been Givenchy Friday on BN I would never had given it a thought. My store sample of Ange au demon was the only Givenchy I could find in my wardrobe apart from old bottles of Ysatis and Givenchy Gentleman. I didn't fancy either of those for today.

However, I now smell subtly gorgeous with the unintentional but gentle aftershock of the last two days : Opium, more more Opium, and Ange au Demon.

Enjoy the weekend ahead.

I haven't found loves among the Givenchy-s yet. So instead of a full wear I am joining the Givenchy Friday by testing on one wrist Ange ou Demon and on the other Ange ou Demon Eau Tendre. They are not for me. Not really bad, but they say nothing, just sweeten my skin a bit.
Good Afternoon!

My Givenchy of the day is Le De.
I am wearing Ange ou Demon for today's Synchronized Givenchy Day. I'm sorry it doesn't work for some of you, this is a highly complimented fragrance for me.

Top Notes: White thyme, Mandarin from Calabria and Essence of Saffron.
Middle Notes: Maxillaria orchid, Lily, Ylang ylang.
Base Notes: Tonka bean, Vanilla, Rosewood, Oak wood absolute.

On me, the standout notes are the saffron, tonka bean, and rosewood. The floral notes are fairly subtle, which is a good thing for me.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Like Donna, I do not do Givenchy either. Not any longer.

Solange Stoned -- 2nd time this week. No particular reason -- TGIF and because I can, perhaps?
Today I'm wearing Fleur d'Interdit by Givenchy. Happy Friday everyone!

Happy birthday to your mom, Sorcery of Scent!

Joining the Givenchy sync with Organza Indecence. Love the delicious blend of woods, spices, and creamy sweet vanilla.

Have a lovely Friday, all!
Out of sync with many of you, as I'm in Byredo Pulp
post #22 of 60
Hello !Happy Day

I am going to spray Organza by Givenchy this evening !

L'Interdit original version for me. But will probably change into something else for "meet the in-laws dinner" tonight. I am very anxious. Weil de Weil, Zibeline, LTBL, Detchema? My closet is an alphabet of choices over something that will probably only matter to me. Ok, definitely only matter to me...unless I freak out and wear Yatagan!
Day 7 of my personal 21 day sample challenge and I'm wearing the very pretty Miss Dior Cherie. I shall break out my Le De sample tomorrow.
Hello everyone!

Seems I forgot today was Friday when selecting my fragrance, but any remorse would be completely insincere since I'm happy as a clam on my luscious purple cloud of Iris Ganache.

Y'all have a fantastic day!

PG Cadjmere today! And G does not stand for Givenchy as I have none. But like Miss E, I could not be happier with my choice. This is one of my birthday purchases, and I couldn't wait for cooler weather to dig into it.

All 3 of us are wearing Gorilla perfumes from the samples I received: I'm in Ladyboy, Daughter is in Vanillary and hubby is wearing Icon.

Edit: The longer I wear this, the more I like it. A not-sweet violet, not too powdery. I keep sniffing and sniffing. Could be full bottle worthy.
I don't have any Givenchys... except for a Play sample.... no thanks! Anyway, sorry I can't synchronize!

Knize Ten is my scent of the day.

Hi Le Grand Duc,

I haven't smelled the original Ysatis for quite sometime, but if I am not mistaken, it was quite a sillage monster.
Ysatis Iris is a little bit more subdued. It is a fairly big floral scent and yet it has a pink tone to it. The smell of tuberose is quite prominent here too. Not an earth-breaking scent but pleasant enough to work in an office environment.
I'm with Roberto and Jon Rodgers today, in Givenchy Vetyver.
We have all heard and used the phrase "out of sight out of mind" -right? Well I completely forgot I had Givenchy III. Oooops!
I was trying to go through my collection of Givenchy alphabetically this week and end in Ysatis .
Hmmm.
Well one will be my SOTD and the other will be either this eve or tomorrows scent.Decision to be made after I unload a sleepy cat from my lap.
Originally planned to wear Le De, but as it is well represented on this synchronized Friday, I opted for the refreshing yet feminine Eau de Givenchy
(I am remiss in my perfume education that I have not yet sampled: Vetyver, Insense, Ysatis Iris, or Xeryus).
End of a long week! Whew!

Yesterday: Hermes Kelly Caleche EDT
Last Night: FM Une Rose (from a sample, but probably I "need" a FB of this one!)

and

SOTD: FM L'Eau d'Hiver

I have only one Givenchy & it's just a sample (Very Irresistible). Will be trying it tonight...

Hey y'all -

I'm in Keiko Mecheri's breezy, soft and pretty-pretty-pretty White Petals for the afternoon.

Back from a trip to Oslo today Bought some Tam Dao from as far as I know is the only niche boutique in Norway. I don't have a single Givenchy in my wardrobe,I'm afraid,so my sotd is the gorgeous Mitsouko
post #52 of 60
This is Actias luna's computer. She wanted you to know that she (shamefully) admits she forgot to put on the Ysatis this morning... and went with Mitsuoko instead. Then got home to the receipt of the Knowing and Tea Rose and is wearing one on the left and the other on the right... but PROMISES she will put on Ysatis later! (she knows how bad she is, and won't let it happen again.) Signed by proxy: AL

Scent of the Evening, my first ever wear of:

UN BOIS VANILLE by Serge Lutens / Christopher Sheldrake

Notes include black vanilla absolute, licorice, sandalwood, coconut milk, beeswax, caramelized benzoin, bitter almond, Gaiac wood, tonka bean.

Bonfire Night has come early. That's fine by me.
Oh, Sestra, isn't it wonderful?? It's going to be my next FB purchase. I love it like crazy.

I wore J. Lo's Still today to work (no Givenchy at my house yet), but tonight I'm sampling Ayala Moriel's Song of Songs on one wrist and Roses et Chocolate on the other.
No Givenchy here, but I'm happily out of sync in L'Artisan Poivre Piquant.

Oh Mimi! I used to have Amarige and LOVED it! I had it in the early 90s I think....is it still the same? The only Givenchy in my collection currently is Very Irresistible. I like it, but already spritzed on some p. s. i love you by Bath and Body Works:

I really dig this one: I love peony and the Riesling note intrigued me. But now that I've had it for a while what really pleases me most about this frag is that it smells exactly the way it is described on the bottle:

"...a modern blend of rose-the universal symbol of love--with sexy golden amber, addictive white Riesling, and exotic incense."
Even an amateur like me can pick out every one of these notes in it. It's kinda relaxing, like comfort food, in it's simplicity.

I went with Polo Blue for Men yesterday!!! This smelled so good I had to go with it again!!!

I swear I need to put this on my planner lol. I forgot again.....smh

These cravings have driven me crazy all week. I just had to wear my Sandal today. I wish I could find the other Sandal online. The one I'm wearing today is an attar. My other one is a hanky perfume and it smelled sooooooo good on me. It's way stronger than the one I have on today.
The chypre won . I wore Givenchy III today .Then while out shopping and paying a bill I stopped at Marshalls..............................
..............where they had a bottle of Givenchy Pi ..........for $16.99 + tax !
How was I to resist?
Wearing Pi this evening and loving it!
To make sure Ysatis felt loved and not ignored I gave my mom one of my minis (she said she needsa full bottle.I 'm getting a fragrance convert here. She also said it reminded her of Mary Kay Elige .(both strong florientals)
