Floris Santal vs. Gucci Envy for Men

Going through some old "Autumn scent" posts, I read multiple times that these two were comparable. Personally, I have tried and really like Envy, and am considering it as a pick-up for the Fall, but am wondering if Santal might be the better way to go. So, before I place a sample order to test:

1) Do you think they are comparable in the first place?
2) If so, which do you think is better and why?

As I said, I was considering them as cold weather scents, likely more for nighttime wear. Lastly, would you agree they are fitting for that?

1) Absolutely. As comparable as say Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water. Clearly loads of similarity.

2) Floris Santal = Guccy Envy minus the ginger note. They have the same synthetic sandalwood base. If the ginger turns you on, go for Envy. If it turns you off, go for Santal.

And yeah, I wouldn't wear these scents in the summer heat.

I have both. Santal is a bit creamier, Envy a little bit sharper.
I slightly prefer Envy, which I've used more of - mainly because I have two bottles.
As an oriental, Envy is more for night time, cooler weather. But it's fresh enough that on accasion I've happily worn it in warm daytime weather, with pleasant effect.

Other similar style sandalwood scents are S.T Dupont Signature and the Australian Larrikin for Men.

I own both and don't find them as similar as some people do. I prefer Floris Santal. Envy seems a bit sweet to me sometimes.
