Unidentified Guerlain EDC............

....arrived today in a disc-shaped glass bottle with a conical glass stopper.

No label.

The juice is a slightly oily pale yellow liquid that (to me) smells creamy & nutty at the same time, like a piece of fragrant sponge cake would just before you'd eat it.

I understand Guerlain issued a lot of their fragrances, including Chant D'aromes, Mitsouko, Vol de Nuit etc in this bottle(I think it's 1.7 oz).

Anyone knows offhand what scent this is?

Creamy and nutty - potentially Shalimar.

We really need a photo, please. Shalimar, yes vanilla mega vanilla.

Oh no....I was hoping to get something else. I've bought quite a few bottles of Shalimar already. Today, I received another box with Shalimar parfum from the 1990s, and when I put my nose to the stopper(it was stuck), I only smelt SMOKE.

I'll try to put one up. But there's nothing about the bottle that positively identifies anything, though by virtue of colour alone, Shalimar seems to be the one.

Here's the auction link where the bottle came with a few other identified bottles like L'air du temps, Chanel & Shiaparelli. The mentioned bottle is in the 2nd picture, and first from the right at the back in the main picture:

The EDC still smells dessert-y after 15 minutes, with just a tiny teeny hint of smokiness.

Does it smell powdery? Amber?

Most likely Shalimar IMHO .

Not to my nose...I only 'get' the cake.

Look's like it's that one with a 98% probability then.

I've never encountered a scent which is so contradictory : Parfum = smoke; EDC = cake. The former somewhat repulsive, the latter so delectable!

The new version EDP is also smoky in to topnotes. Shalimar is a true masterpiece, IMO.

I have a Shalimar EDC bottle just like that domperrier - cake and some smoke. To me the EDP is the most smokey though.

The I/D is now confirmed without the shadow of a doubt: after 3 hours, it's unmistakably a smoky, woodsy drydown, with the vanilla taking a backseat but still hovering in the background.

Oh no...today the juice smells a little like bugspray on my wrist
