Deodorant - Too Strong and Overpowering Your SOTD

Has this ever happened to you? I'm wearing Aqva Marine by Bvlgari and my deodorant, which is new (Degree for Men), is blaring over the top of my cologne. Do any of you know of any brands of deodorant/antiperspirant that do not project so strongly? I'm talking regular Walgreens/Walmart brands...

Try the Mitchum Clear gel or solid unscented.....works well, and no fragrance to compete with your SOTD.

Yea, I use the Arm and Hammer Unscented solid. Great stuff.

Mitchum Unscented

I recently road tested some Mitchum products and was so impressed I switched immediately. I cannot see myself using anything else now.

I use Sure unscented antiperspirant spray. Works well for me.

Tom's of Maine Unscented.

I have been using Right Guard Sport 3D Cool Scent(gel). It has a fairly weak innocuous sent that dissipates in about a hour. The deodorant works 24 hours + on me. But seeing that this sent is being phased out and replaced with a scent that lasts over 8 hours I suppose I will be trying some of the unscented deodorants mentioned above.

I don't know about deodorants because I never wear them, but antiperspirants last 24 hours. I put one on before I go to bed, sleep four or five hours, and by the time I get up the scent has totally disappeared - and I have 18 to 20 hours of protection left - which is usually good enough.

I save my Mitchum Unscented for times when I've had a shower and am going out afterwards.

So I never have clashing scents.

Have you looked into Certain Dri?

Chandler Burr just mentioned this in his "man page" on fragrance in the September GQ. As he put it, "Yes, that cheap deodorant you're wearing is killing your cologne." He also does some funny finger-wags at [cheap, old] aftershaves and both "pulse point" and "mist-and-walk-through" applications. Page 162.

This. Worn it for years after it was recommended here. It does the job well.
