Just to add a bit of femininity to all this early morning testosterone, I
am wearing Citizen Queen By Juliette Has A Gun (Kurkdjian.)
Rose, Aldehydes Amber and Leather - wow!

I tried out a sample of Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle yesterday evening. This stuff apparently has the half-life of plutonium, because it's still going strong in the crook of my arm, twelve hours later.
Ergo, I had to choose something that would work with it, and picked vintage Coty L'Aimant.

Vintage No. 5(from 1940s) for me today...

Je Reviens. I was reading a John Le Carré novel a couple of weeks ago, and the hero mentions Je Reviens. He recognizes the fragrance on the woman he is walking with, and says it was also his sister-in-law's "weapon of choice" (to himself). I love coming across these perfume references.

Kbe, did you know that September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day? I think you must be subconsciously preparing yourself.

Good morning everyone! My SotD is Rush by Gucci.

Sampling Crabtree & Evelyn's new Iris. It does smell just like the colour of the Vespa you can win in their sweepstakes (only if you live on US soil, alas), very purple. Not very Irisy, sadly.

And I want that Vespa!

Hope everyone is having a peaceful day!

I am wearing L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse. I'm bowled over by how much I love this. Probably the most wearable tuberose I've ever smelled. Wish I would have bought the big bottle!

Last night I did a good sampling of Andy Tauer's Carillon pour un Ange. Also very lovely indeed. Complex and very interesting, very fem. I do like it very much!

I must say that my nose has been pleased the last 24 hours.

Today I'm Kewart's scent twin in Citizen Queen. This is soooo delicious....

We got back yesterday from smokey Mountains in North Carolina where we attended a niece's wedding. It was so lovely there -- 75, sunny during the days, cool at night... I wore Chanel Bois des Iles to the afternoon wedding, and it felt just right, dressy but not too... (the only down side to the trip was no AT&T reception in that area! There we were with 2 iphones and one ipad and no signal! So, no basenotes....)

Guerlain's Parfum des Champs-Elysées, a floral leather chypre introducing the pastel-grey melancholy of Après L'Ondée's violet-iris-heliotrope, but based on a dry mossy-leathery core of rain-soaked tree bark. Handsome!

Guido Reni, 1575-1642
Eau d'Italie-Paestum Rose
Somewhat dry, this scent echos its namesake in Italy.
I imagine it to be sunny, warm and mellow,
although I have never been;
cool in the dusty shadows.

Like a sumptuous tapestry, the perfume unfolds.
The scent of the rose is slowly revealed
from the depths of many colors.
Pepper and coriander, peony and currant buds;
flowers and spices amuse and bewilder.
Traveling through time with this delightful elixir.

Paestum Rose was created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour
and is designated as a unisex scent.
The notes include davana, cinnamon, black pepper, pink pepper,
coriander, black currant buds, Turkish rose, peony, incense,
osmanthus, elemi, tea, papyrus, benzoin, myrrh, opoponax,
vetiver, patchouli, cedar, wenge wood, amber and white musk.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hello! I haven't posted for a while but wanted to swing by and say "hi." Hope everyone is doing well and to those who observe, Happy Rosh Hashanah.

Kumquat, lovely picture and words. Nostalgie, perfect pick. I should have worn my Africanimal.

SotD: After obsessively wearing Delrae Mythique for days, I switched to OJ Ta'if. I had forgotten how lovely the almost chewy opening is--rose, dates, patchouli, and a bit of bright orange. It's still a bit too warm here for Ta'if, but that's O.K.

Also, if anyone has sniffed Yves Rocher Vanille Noir yet, please let me know what you think here or on the separate thread.

Cheers!

Terre d'Hermes today. (busy, busy, busy again. Wishing for the fiscal year to be over and done with.)

I guess the upside to busy is that I never even notice BN was down.

So... woohoo!

It's good to see you, Black Cat! I chose Niki de Saint Phalle today, as I was in the mood for marigolds. :-)

This word always makes me want to quote Poe, even if it is the wrong word. "Get thee back into the tempest and the night's Plutonian shore!"

Incidentally, we're fraternal scent-twins, Pimpinett!
