Tonight I will be holding an education/presentation seminar on Acqua di Gioia for around 50-60 people, so naturally, my SoTD will have to be Acqua di Gioia.

NOTE: It has been mentioned on two occasions this week that I am starting these threads "too early". I think the reason why members have this impression is because the BN post clock is/may be set to Grant's local time in the UK. When I started this post today, it was at 8 or 9 am West Australian time, which is 7 hours AHEAD of London. So can we please cool it with the "Why are you posting so early" PMs, kids? Thankxverymuch.

Acqua di Gio is a men's fragrance, with a female counterpart, and Acqua di Gioia (Water of Joy) is an all new womans fragrance. You can read a review and learn about it on my blog here:

I loved the smell of Acqua di Gio. Without bothering about the gender, I thought offhand that it was for women.

However, I hate the fact that everyone seems to own(& use) at least 1 bottle.

Also, with the kind of inflated perfume prices in my country(to give you an idea : 100ml of Midnight Poison EDT costs the equivalent of $124.44 currently!), I'm better off using the cash to scour eBay for worthy fume-vestments...

What a strange SOTD thread this is turning out to be!
If I had any DIVA by Ungaro I would put it on, but as I don't
I shall wear Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini for the synchronised
Friday.

Good morning everyone! My SOTD is Alan Cumming - Cumming the Fragrance for Synchronization Friday (Celebrity Fragrance). This is the BEST celebrity fragrance.

Happy Birthday shadesofbleu!

Notes include bergamot, black pepper, scotch pine, whiskey, cigar, heather, douglas fir, rubber, leather, Highland mud, peat fire, and white truffle.

Happy Birthday to Shades and Ted (Indie_Guy) -- and many fragrant discoveries. Let your day be filled with joy and faith, good people and nice smellies. It is a priviledge to know you both.

Personally, I do believe that today's pictures are mauvais tone, except for Gioia and Joe's. Not like I am going to report it to the mods or anything, but please use better judgement -- seems like SotD threads are the ones geeting most attention, including that from the esteemed guests.

Joe -- good luck with the walk tomorrow, it is an important mission you are involved with!

Madeleine Vionnet for my celebrity scent today.

In honor of synchronized friday celeb scent, and tomorrow's final of the US Open tennis tournament (the last Grand Slam of the year), I am wearing Gabriela Sabatini by Gabriela Sabatini.

Gabby won the US Open in 1990, finally beating Stefi Graf, for her first and only major win. She started her own line of perfumes, using her status and her model good looks.

Thanks for all the visuals today guys! VERY FUN!

Happiest birthday wishes to Shadesofblue!

I'm not wearing a celebrity frag today - but I am giving one as a gift. FANCY, (Jessica Simpson) to a co-worker for her birthday!
My own frag is Miss Dior Cherie. (Which makes me feel young and spritely - like a celebrity!)

Happy Birthday, Shadesofbleu!
I hope you enjoy your day and sending you special birthday wishes today.

Roberto, you romantic! ♥ (I love that pic!)

Interesting Scent Synch choices so far today.

Ubu, I think gifting a celebuscent definitely counts.

I’m wearing SJP Lovely this morning.

Off to check out Sorceryofscent’s blog on Acqua di Gioia. I love Acqua di Gio for women. I don’t know the men’s version, although I’m sure I must have smelled it on someone at some point.

Happy birthday Shadesofblue!

Happy Friday to all of us!

I have to tell you that for the first time in my life, I have been having dreams about perfume. Just one perfume, Hermes Eau Claire des Merveilles. It's a reoccurring dream in that its always about ECdM, however the story is different each time, alternating between two themes.
In one version, I walk into a perfume store looking for ECdM and don't find it. I search the shelves and then ask the SA if they carry it. I am told she didn’t know it exists. I walk out of the store and the dream is over. In the other version, I walk into a "non-perfume" store and I’m joyfully surprised to see it on the counter or a shelf. I run up to the bottle, which is always the same, but it is NOT the bottle Hermes uses. I can't quite make out the design, and I peer at it…a tall, rectangular and multi-faceted bottle. I always wonder why it’s not a(n) Hermes design. In the end, I don’t buy it, because the store has priced it at $500USD !!! So, I leave the store as well as the dream at that point.

It would appear that I’m wrestling with some seriously ambivalent feelings toward buying this fragrance. I find it quite charming and I’m wearing it today (from a sample). Perhaps I’ll soon decide if I need to get me a bottle of it!

Happy Birthday, Shades of Bleu!

It's too nice a day for me to spend it chained to a celebuscent. I'm experimenting with Imogen Rose and Tuca Tuca this morning, and plan on wearing vintage Je Reviens for the rest of the day
post #33 of 86
Happy birthday, Shades! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Scent twins with Lilybelle in Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely. My daughter gave me her tube of the body lotion (she's since moved on to Stella) so I smoothed some on this morning. It's very nice, gentler and softer than the juice which went a bit sharp on me when I tried it.

Happy Friday to all!

Scent Synching in Kiss Him by Kiss. One of the best Celeb Frags IMO.
Hope you rock on your Acqua di Gioia presentation Dimmy! I wish i had a sample of this one, since i love mint, sugar, and discovered recently that i quite like jasmin when it`s not donne in an indolic way.

My scent of today is boucheron initial edp. I`m curious because today Initial is soft on me, and I gave generous sprays of this one. On me Initial seems like a pre-modern chypre. What i detect is lots of salty patchouly, creamy musk, honey, roses, an a bit of almond that gives me a plastic impression at the top notes. I love the creamy honey patchouly of Initial on my skin...

No "civilian" therapist would ever understand us. We're going to need an official BN shrink on staff.

Not ashamed to admit I'm enjoying Britney Spears Believe.
Guava, tangerine, honeysuckle, linden, patchouli, amber, pink pralines.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! Love those bleu cakes and balloons too!

No celeb scent for me today ... I'm in full-on Angel! I'm wearing the body oil, the bluish shimmer body powder with spritz of EDP on top. No worries, I'm not working today. The only one smelling my Angel saturated self is myself!

Annnyhoo!
Happy Birthday, Shadesofbleu!
No celebuscent for me, either, just another day enjoying an old favorite!

Hypnotic Poison

The funny thing is that for about half a day, I thought my tastes were changing as this suddenly felt waaaay too sweet. I'm over it, though.

Have spent the day in Kate Moss Vintage from a tester at my local shop.
It just came out on me like a general vanilla without any real character, but after all its a models fragrance.
(Regret that I didnt go for something more adventerous or challenging while at it.)
For this evening I stay in vanilla in - Helmut Lang Parfum

Hello,

This is my first post (don't know much ).

My only celebrity scent is a sample of Sinner by Kat von D, so that's what I'm wearing.

Another site listed the notes as orange blossom, mandarin, plum, jasmine, white-flower bouquet, cinnamon, vetiver, patchouli, woods, creamy vanilla, musk.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone wears tomorrow.
