... Worst of 2010 ...

Is it a little early to start this thread? 'Cause I have nightmares every time I test new Chanel's Bleu de Chanel. I find it ugly from outside to inside. The bottle is like fake. The juice is generic and boring.

For me, Bleu de Chanel is the worst of 2010.

Ouch. Bleu? Worse than all the Big Pony's or Gucci by Gucci Sport? I don't think it's that bad.

I actually like Bleu, it's the best aquatic I know of, way better than Aqua di Gio that's for sure. The worst of 2010 for me are the Ralph Lauren Big Pony releases, very generic.

I actually liked Gucci, generic and all, but quite pleasant to my nose. I'd say Akon Konvict was pretty bad, I still own it, it smells like a wanna be Live Jazz infused with Windex. Mad props to the bottle though, although it's very poorly constructed.

Big Pony series hands down...

Actually, Gucci scents and RL scents are nothing for me. But with Chanel, I had high hope. When I tested Bleu, I just felt down. After all these years, Chanel gave us men a very normal and have-no-character-at-all scent. Is it very SAD???

Well, it's been over a year and 2,000+ posts so I can well understand some of the loathing for Bleu de Chanel. But I have it, and other than it being a tad "weak" on me, it's not that bad for that kind of scent.

The "Big Pony" scents are way too generic in packaging and scent for me. C'mon Ralph! You can do better than that. But maybe you don't have to.

Big Pony series, without a doubt.

Davidoff Champion
Aramis cold blend
Davidoff hot water
and the Big Pony series.
Definitely the Big Pony series. Those may be the most average in every way possible fragrances I have yet to encounter.

Maison Martin Margiela - Untitled
Prada Tubereuse and Vetiver
When one looks at recent trends from the houses involved, most releases mentioned (except Chanel Bleu which i haven't smelled) were not absolutely surprising in their mediocrity. My big disappointment, though, was Aramis Cool Blend. What was the point of this frag, from Aramis of all houses??!!!

+1 to the Big Pony series, absolutely unforgivable.
I think Davidoff Champion wins the "awful scent in tacky bottle 2010" award hands down, although there's a tight competition with SJP New York, arguably even more tacky.
I think the most disappointing was L'Eau de Lutens, since once can have bit more expetations on Lutens house, rather than on Chanel mainstream products...

Gucci by Gucci Sport. No doubts.
Bleu de Chanel for me is the worst.
I think that there should be a distinction made between 'worst' and 'most disappointing'.

Bleu de Chanel might be disappointing to some expectations, but it is a nice enough scent. And the Big Ponys are lame, but seem to play down to expectations, and -- really -- if you are over 20 or know anything about scent, they aren't meant for you.

But something like Davidoff Champion is a real comer: it grabs you by the collar and screams 'BAD!' in your face.

Just that ridiculous Davidoff dumbell thing puts you off without even trying the damned stuff LOL

Reminiscent of something from Avon c. 1970.

The Ponys. Just really. really bad. All of them.

Nope, it's nowhere near that bad.

Yes! Personally I prefer the Gucci to Bleu.

The Ponies get my vote for the worst of 2010. They are either too foul to wear, or so weak that they are a waste of money.

Big Pony especially 2, very disappointing.
Yes, It is too early for this thread.

I feel the same way about Bleu that I felt about L'Homme. Uninspired, sell-out to the masses. It might not be the worst frag of the year but the fact that it came from Chanel makes it a travesty. So, yeah, something really awful will have to happen in the next 4 months to get me to change my vote.

John Varvatos Artisan Black is the worst I've smelled from 2010... so far. Dead ringer for dish detergent...
Bleu de Chanel? It's an aquatic, people, not a fragrance made with alcohol distilled with the tears from christ. For what its genre is, it's excellent. The price tag, on the other hand, is not.
...Wait- there's no Christ in Bleu de Chanel? Even less worthy frag.
